Inverted Flying of Stinger-90 & Viper 90mm Jets

The video is full of joy flying both Stinger-90 & Viper-90mm jets to their fullest potential. I also got few clips in slow-motion to show you how sharply they can be controlled by flying lower to the ground, inverted and in-loops. Of cause you must have a gyro installed to fly lower to the ground if you would like to do that as I was, to combat any wind gust and cross winds. Both of these jets ...

Flying Mig-29 EDF Jet with Twin 80mm EDF ducted fans having Thrust-Vectoring. However, I could not do any of the planed maneuvers due to low power I had at the time. I believe it is due to the fact that the two 6S batteries that I used are heavier than the power it could render and started kind of staling on me, hence I immediately cut the Thrust-Vectoring feature to avoid loss control. Batteri...

Rudder is one connection to the receiver which supply power to existing two rudders’ servos plus trust vectoring two rudders’ servos. The Elevator connections on the other hand you have two connectors. One connected to existing two Elevator servos plus one for the trust vectoring servo. The other trust vectoring elevator servo connector is totally isolated for you to connect it to a separate receiver channel to mix it via your remote to reverse it. This is because, both the elevator servos come with vectoring unit is moving forward, which defeat the purpose of it and you need one servo to be reversed to work correctly. Not sure why Freewing did not think of placing a reverse servo into one of the vectoring elevator servos instead. If you need more info on how to configure trust vectoring unit, please do not hesitate to contact us via this thread, we are here to help and assist.

Excellent review! I’m thinking about getting this jet. Are you from Sri Lanka?
Thanks Jayakody, please get in touch with me via rcjetsusa@gmail.com, I could share some useful info. Also please take a look at ua-cam.com/video/-3bNWeMRPTE/v-deo.html, which may help you in deciding on Jets.
Hi Anthony, As you're thinking of buying a Mig-29, I have following tips for you about the Jet & Flying Characteristics; It is a well flying jet, however you must make sure to get the CG right, if you're in doubt, please make it nose heavy, as you do not want to fly this jet tail heavy at all. As I mentioned in my video, don't let it stall (high alpha) on low throttle, recovery is going to be very painful if you do, unless you have enough altitude to recover at that point. You can glide and slow pass this jet with flaps on. I only use flaps for landing and always use full flaps for that and you can cut the throttle and glide as far as you're in a level position. It flies fast too. I do not use any mixing nor any expo at all in any of my jets. As is, this jet flies really very well with minimum trimming to suite your remote and behaviors. I always fly all my jets with High rates only (that's me by the way). Also get a Gyro installed, I got Eagle A3 Super gyro setup with all my Jets. Check out my landing and taking off videos few times before you go to fly. Please let me know if you need any more info - Thanks.
Small Correction: Capacity of the Motor that I have installed on my Stinger90 Jet is 1950kv, not 950kv as I have mentioned in my video, which was a mistake - sorry about the late detection of this mistake.
Nice vid and info. Subsribed to you.
Thanks - Cheers.
Whats the final take off weight with all batteries etc. included ready for take off ?
I really did not check the final weight as it is not relevant. This jet is designed to take even weights of turbine engine plus a smoke unit within. If your concern is adding more larger capacity batteries, I have seen people using 7000+mAh batteries, so you can add large capacity batteries as far as it can fit in to the slot. Most important thing is to get the CG right, please refer to the website www.RCJetsUSA.com to identify the correct CG location.
@@rcjetsusa hey 👋 Thank you for your answer ! Does it have enough thrust with the new S-EDF or is there not enough available for perfomance flying. What experience do you have with its thrust to weight ratio ?
Actually it is pretty good, have enough thrust to go vertically and do all performance flying. When I fly, don't feel the drag of the weight like my 90mm Thunderbird does. So far I am pretty happy with it. Check these out ua-cam.com/video/sMx-49nNYNE/v-deo.html / ua-cam.com/video/3G2MPymWTvM/v-deo.html
@@rcjetsusa and can you tell me how many flights you can do with only one 2s rx battery ? Because I‘m about to use only one 2s 500mah for one and change the battery after every flight but I dont know of 500mah is enough for one flight
Hi Julian, I use 2200mAh 7.4v x2 batteries on all my 105mm Jets, I have done at least 5 flights without having to recharge them, which is not an issue. However I do not recommend running on a single battery, which removes the whole purpose of redundancy power for Control System, Receiver, Gyro, Servos, Landing Gear, Lights & Breaks. Also reducing required amps than recommended is not a good thing as well. So 500mAh is pretty low and I would not take a chance of losing power to those important circuits specially receiver & the control system. Please take a look at this video on what happens when you lose power on a 105mm Jet, I hope this will never happen to you. ua-cam.com/video/0f_OdtVCQV4/v-deo.html Regards
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Since I did not have a heavy-duty tool to weigh this Jet to check the CG, I held it using my fingers from the plastic pieces that join both the body and the main wing of the Jet together and got the CG balance checked and noticed it is right on 1st main wing attachment screw from the nose. However, when you do it, be careful not to do weigh it on the form, which will damage it because of the weight of the Jet, instead weigh only holding it from the plastics.

Hi, I was wondering if you could send me your setup file for your jet. All of the radio programming that you did for the airplane and the location of your CG (how many mm's back). Thanks.
Hi Jayson, Thanks for reaching out. Do you have a Spectrum remote? Because my file would only be compatible with Spectrum remotes, which I could send, however there are no setup files for the Jet config though. Do you have the same Jet? I just got my CG measured at 135mm (to see the pictures, visit www.RCJetsUSA.com & select RC TECH menu). Please note manufacturer's CG is way off and it won't work for anyone. It is hard to balance the Jet as it is heavy but somehow I got it done to help everyone who needs it. Also please watch my battery placement on F-16 Jet . Here is the URL for the CG setup with my battery placement on this particular Jet: ua-cam.com/video/W-zh2sp1X0A/v-deo.html
@@rcjetsusa yes, I have a NX-10
I'm going to fit a 6ch rx on my 8s version. Do u think the air break is necessary? If so I'd have to buy a more expensive 8ch rx. Thanks.
Good question, to be honest I don't think it is extremely important if you can use flaps when landing, I kind of use it only in this particular jet just because it is there, all the other jets I manage without them, don't have any issues whatsoever. So you should be good without them.
By the way, I forgot to mention earlier, you could couple your channel for flaps for air-breaks as well, that is what I have done. Both air-breaks & flaps work on the same channel unless you use flaps for take off, which is not necessary at all, because you could take off without flaps.
Thanks mate. I ended up ordering a few 8 ch rx anyway. Will add the air brakes in and since I have a spare ch I'll mix in tailerons too..cheers
Good to hear that.. have fun..
