I love Wiz I just hate the hack, incompetent devs we have making the content for the last 5-6 years. Clearly as better Devs left and Ratbeard, Cam and co run this game it's losing it's identity. It's targeting a player base that isn't those who play this game, making more content for the so called 1% and ignoring the majority. Sadly the devs don't understand the players. You don't choose Wiz101 if you want a hard core experience, heck even us adults can't talk freely without red words on an open account. What new hardcore adult gamer is gonna join Wiz? Ratbeard is too stubborn, too arrogant to listen. He's making Wiz the game he wants to play not what his audience consistently tells him we don't want. The irony is he keeps changing spells, PVP/advanced content and the man still sucks at this game.

I was late to the pvp craze because of the barrier. I'm almost done getting decent gear but I still have NO idea how to start doing PvP. It's heavily gatekept and impossible to get into as a beginner. I really wish there were more resources around, but other than that I started around the same time as you and I also have heaps of nostalgia.

If you use a triangle socket athame with a pip jewel you can swap out the helmet or boots with the raid gear to get even more shadow pip rating. Not exactly better than this but I think its another viable option if you want a lot of shad.

I know i comment a lot but i feel like we have some cool similarities and i wanna share my story. I also started in 2011, but it was originally in January on my old menu chat account. My first wizard was death, and he had the massive fantasy palace and i never really quested on him. I just would get on with friends and hang out in that house. I was 9 in 2011 and not 8. Those are our differences. In december of 2011 i decided to take the game seriously. I deleted my death wizard WITH the fantasy palace (my biggest regret to this day) and because it was Christmas Eve, I made an ice wizard, who is my main to this day. The first bundle house i got on this current account was the sun palace and i actually got that for christmas the next day so it almost went to the old menu chat account lol Nowadays, I main ice still since i cant max another wizard for my life but I have a level 80 death named after my old death I've been leveling on the side over the course of a decade just when i get nestolgic and bored of max level. Oh and i have a budget death i play with my partner, who picked myth, when wiz is free like this week lol.

Wizard101 was most people's first introduction into the MMO scene back when there was not that much to play compared to now, around that time you had some other games like toon-town, fusion fall, club penguin, WoW, etc. and included in there was Wizard101 and you kinda had to pick your favorites out of those bunch and stick with it, and stick with it most of us did, cause you have people that have been sticking with this game for 5+ years and the amount of history some people had with this game including myself is massive, essentially this game is most people's second home and when you get to that point it's hard to let go and even for someone like me to this day even though I don't play anymore I still check up now and again on the changes that are being made and who's been entering the community (streaming wise). Come home from school/work, get on on Wiz, and you'd have a grand ole time, made some good friends adventuring around for hours questing, if you got bored of that, you could do a little PvP when that actually had some balance too it, maybe get yourself into some shenanigans in the commons or watch people make fools of themselves and if you were lucky you met some Wiz-Babes and hoping there was a leprechaun at the end of the rainbow and just letting the good times roll. The game, while I don't play this game anymore and it's something I barely recognize, I had more than enough good experiences to have made playing this game very much worth while. I'd give Wizard101 a skeletal pirate salute out of 10.

I was 10 when I first played wiz, it was a fun first year playing a myth wiz until I was banned. Coming back in 2011 to start again I mained a death wizard, it’s been uphill since. Great watch ice gold

Honestly for me I always think about me riding my jaguar mount around jaguar just looking swagger and questing meeting new players! Never gets old. Honestly thinking about content creating but don’t know if or how to start for wiz.

I was also 8 when I first played. Back then Celestia was the final world (I played on the German server, which in Spring 2022 was fused into an EU server). Incredible, that the game is alive to this day.

I agree pirate is much more fun in my opinion, but since I’ve done most everything I wanted to in pirate maxing all classes good gear. I just play wiz now since theres so much more stuff to do. Just waiting for the krok update on pirate.

Do you use path a or b for helephant? Which one is best for PvP.

Im going to be honest I just simply refuse to believe that you think cyclops minion is better than minotaur minion. I would swap these 2 in a heart beat. Are either them particularly good beyond like dragonspire or maybe celestia? no. But that being said minotaur minion casts a lot of shields on it's self, keeps some aggro and will occasionally cast a myth trap. The cyclops minion spam casts like 2-3 pip spells that do no damage and is killed instantly (because it's not using shields frequently). The minotaur at least can buy you some time if you need it for whatever reason as where the cyclops minion just sits there and casts snow serpent on your feint into dying 2nd turn. Minions could actually be useable if you got to control what they cast.💀 Basilisk and medusa need to go to the absolute bottom. 0 use in casting these ever. Basi is a single target 9 pip spell that doesn't work with feints (75% of the dmg is in the dot) and has a stun which is completely useless against the only enemies you will ever use high pip single target spells on (bosses). Literally just pvp only spells, useless otherwise. Just cast orthrus. Stone colosus is C tier. Lowest damage 6 pip of the hitting classes. Also of the 3 hitting classes stone colossus is the only one that does lower damage than the 7 pip aoe. Just cast orthrus. Earthquake is D tier. It's only use is as a second turn hit before you can start second turning Orthrus, but realistically I feel like it's better to just second turn frog at that point because if frog doesn't kill then you can just immediately frog again. Realistically I feel like the utility is too niche to be rated highly at all and as a hit it's really only good if you're farming something before you can second turn orthrus that the extra bit of damage lets you 100% kill things a second turn frog can never kill. But if EQ also can't kill then frog is just better because you can immediately cast another frog on the third turn. Bloodbat and Troll are B tier. They're good, inexpensive, spells to have a copy of in your deck while leveling. With them + an enchant you can easily clean up any enemy you didn't kill whether that be because you didn't crit on them or they shielded. I always carry a 1-2 blood bats in my deck on my myth while leveling because it + an enchant can easily hit for like 1k+ without any setup to clean up anything I didn't manage to crit on or whatever else. I can chain cast them in that scenario even if I get 5 normal pips in a row with a 90% power pip chance (:D) But yea for like 90% of the game myth is a one trick pony just spamming orthrus and being in pain before they have orthus. And then they are super sad until they get their 3rd starting pip to second turn orthus. I'd say they're only second to ice in terms of how unenjoyable it is solo early on. You're squishy, minions are basically useless and the extra steps required to set up on myth enemies (prisms) just gives them more opportunities to use obnoxious spells like stuns or earthquakes. Can I also just point out the fact that their gear also SUCKS until later game content? Why do death, balance and life get more damage and health on their gear? Plus pip chance? Like sure they dont get accuracy on, for example, water works gear but that's because accuracy isn't really an issue for them in the first place. If myth is going to get lower damage on their gear they should at least get pip chance AND accuracy, but I digress.
