    It’s also useful to have a small kitchen scale. Purge the bottle ( like you did with the screwdriver or a small Allen key to push down on the Schrader valve on the inlet of the small bottle. Weigh the bottle, it should be close to 1 lb. empty. After filling it your way, weigh the bottle again. It should weigh 2 lbs ( 1 lb for the bottle, 1 lb for the propane ) . The purging that you do is the key to make room for the propane. It goes without saying but do this outside and wear gloves ( propane is really cold and can freeze skin quickly ) .

    I don't have any experience with diesel heaters so forgive my ignorance. Shouldn't you have the air intake inside the vehicle so that the thermostat knows the temperature it is trying to control? If it is sucking the cold air from outside it will never reach a shut off point?

    • @PewPewDoc
      @PewPewDoc 7 місяців тому

      In principle it is correct in practice, it will have more issues. There are many utube vids user have issue with it when it is cool and wet outside. The intake openings got frozen and plugged up the intake. No oxygen means lots of unburned diesel and will create lots of white smoke and no heat. Secondly, most vans are low in clearance and it will have more problem going over water and will suck up water into the diesel engine.

    Not sure what to think but it’s definitely more good than bad considering all the odds of a fight. Realistically you probably won’t hold the gun upside down but I think this is somewhat simulating an awkward shooting position like laying on your back.

  • @Howie875
    @Howie875 11 місяців тому

    You don't have to worry about pressure or over pressurizing a container while filling it. If that problem occurs it will occur later. It is very important to weigh your tanks to make sure they are not over 80% capacity. A condensable gas like propane can expand and contract with temperatures and this can actually change the amount of gas cushion in the tank. Gas is compressible but liquid is not. If you overfill a container on a cold day, then later on a hot summer day the liquid may expand until no gas cushion remains, then an event called hydrostatic pressure occurs. This will induce a force of thousands of pounds and will rupture the container.

    I like your new Excursion ! I camp alone mostly. When I work on the road I prefer staying in my truck to hotels. I have every thing I need and I am also a movie collector so I always have DVDs with me since the internet can be spotty. I also bring my Xbox. Desert camping is nice when I am out west but here in Louisiana at night you have to be inside or else you just feed the mosquitoes !
