other then that last shift that was slow other shifts were fine. They werent blazing fast shifts but he didnt do to badly. You can tell the 5.0 had slightly more power in the top end and was slowly pulling othe then the last few seconds were the 5.0 driver slow shifted fell off power. The vette still did great that motor is used all the way back in 97 when the first c5 came out. So not to bad. I've owned 3 S550 stangs and a couple of LS cars in the past. Both are great cars.

@@williamhaggerson5490 I have an LS2 C6 and its an even race until 100mph, then the corvette pulls on it. The LS2 is a 12.5 car and the mustang more of a 12.9ish car. Assuming we are talking GT, not 350. Mine is 100% stock - air the tires down to 24psi and a worn clutch. Keep in mind, the corvette is 3200lbs and aerodynamic, the new mustangs with IRS are closer to 4000lbs.

My old 2v on a 100 shot would run mid to low 12s @ 112mph . 150 shot deep into 11s @117 . Manual, 4.10 gears, lots of suspension and chassis work . Some exhaust work and intake work but nothing major

@@friendzoning I'd best gen 1 coyotes all day , srt challengers. My last race with the car I out et'd a hellcat . Obviously crap driver, but a simple setup and it dominated most things . Had over 300 passes with it still running strong with high km. I now have a 700whp gen 2 coyote mustang , it's a lot of fun, but not as satisfying as my old 2v simple setup lol

That C5 should run a lot better for those mods, especially geared. Must be a very mild cam. I worked on the 5.0 Coyote Ford test stands. I knew when I saw it the engine was gonna be a strong runner. But giving up 40+cubes, plus the C5 was cammed and geared, the C5 should've beaten the 5.0. The Coyote is probably the best 5.0 engine ever built...

@@Viper3048false. Plenty of auto C5’s out there dragging ass with a Z06 gear or better. That thing is a pig. I had an aggressively tuned C5 auto with just long tubes and other small crap on it and put two cars on a manual 5.0 (pre-18 update) that had bolt ons multiple times - and pulled even more after 130~. Gotta figure out of the box the C5 is hundreds of lbs. lighter, too. If that thing is cammed/stalled with bolt ons the tune is garbage or something isn’t right. It’s just common sense. You can hear it in the other video with the GT500 this C5 races it just sounds flat and it’s shifting low, like 6k~.

Lol all the people talkin shit on the 5.9s get in one, put it in first gear and see how many trucks they'll rip from a 30 roll down. they're torque monsters I have an 02 ram 5.9mag rcsb with cai and fm super 40 and I've ripped every other truck I've went against in 1st gear all the way through 2nd to. sorry guys just gotta know how to drive the dam thing. Lol #moparornocar after the flashpaq on my 5.9 it'll be a wrap for the 345 hp hemi from 0-120 lol
I have 96 dodge ram 5.9 4x4 for 14 yrs never turn me down love it! I do like hemi etc but I notice that 2 gens and older last long than 3 gens to now ....

I don't know about that being a hemi or not. My 360 couldn't touch a hemi. But now that it's bored 408 and built with the 5-speed manual. A hemi doesn't stand a chance.

I JUST dynoed mine yesterday. Every other car was exactly where I expected them to be and I was only expecting 360-380whp... mine made 443! And 416 tq. Uncorrected in denver's air was 378hp. I have a magnaflow cat back and k&n filter, thats it. So... I was pretty shocked lol

The hemi is a quad cab sb 4x4 ...the 5.9 is a 2wd SC....but if anyone knows anybetter the old 5.9 360 is slow vs newer 5.7s
curious as to how the trucks are setup, guy could have the big crew cab and 6ft4 bed vs a much smaller regular cab and short bed, ive raced my buddies 5.3L chevy against my 5.9L v8 and lost.. then he met up with a new 5.7L and got spanked. I drove the 5.7 and it definitely had more power. i just know my magnum motor is either screaming in a gear or chugging along.
The 5.7 hemi is not a good engine. They are know for having no power and a terrible bottom end. I've owned a hemi and a magnum. I'm a dodge guy through and through. And the magnum is better. More power. Better bottom end. The 360s and 318s are a great motor.

5.9 , 5.2 - easier on pit crew, shadetree mechanic, by far. Besides oil, drop a few degrees on the t-stat, change coolant every year, and distributor cap n rotor. Do not do death flash, l.i.m. gasket is not that hard, but when valve bushing leaks, you will get a cyl. misfire code. I wish the triple-chain motors had spring tensioners not motor-oil hydraulic.

ford did under rate the 03-04 cobras rwhp labeled 390 stock but really put out 420-430rwhp mine was stock a while back and i dynoed it with nothing done to it other then magnaflows and mine put down 439 to the wheels
