I've never understood how people can be inspired by Mohamed. Understanding his behavior towards girls and women and his other derogative teachings. How can you be inspired? I don't ask this question to criticize, but to understand why people who appear spiritual then talk about Mohamed like he's an inspiration. I've read the Quran and hadiths. I understand unconditional love regardless of a persons behavior, but I don't understand the concept of seeking inspiration from them unless it's an inverted inspiration. Obviously, no one is all bad and you can take your inspiration from the parts that are good. But the parts of Mohammed that are good are so common in ordinary people as a default that he needn't be mentioned. Please someone advise because I want to understand this. I understand taking inspiration from Jesus because even in respect of western ideology, he is still advanced. His teachings were (mostly) kind. But Mohammed, I fail to see the extraordinary good in.

I don't buy this no free will deterministic thing. To me, that seems like just a substitute for faith in a god. Personally, I've never really believed in any god as far back as I can remember. But I do think we have a free will. However I think we're driven by impulse and instinct, and there's a constant tug of war between the concious and subconcious parts of our brain of which gets to be in control at any time.

I find it difficult that the good doctor doesn't subscribe to a higher power. His explanation of god in tribal sense is a bit shallow in my view. God, in the religious sense, is also very childish. I lived in former USSR under socialistic regime and I can assure people who have tendency not to like capitalism, capitalism 70% better. I came to America when I was 40 in 1992. I can tell that America was and still is for me the best thing that happen to me in my life. I am terrify that with the tendency to replace capitalistic system with socialism in a future I had to live under socialistic regime again.

There are still a few countries that are trying to escape capitalism. Problem is more poverty and no one wants to live in them.

A person who lives in a developed Western culture where there are opportunities not only economic, but many types of services that allow an individual to live with dignity, then it is possible to say that we live in free will. However, in a country of extreme poverty and conflict, it is difficult for a human being with limited options to say that free will exists. A girl in extreme poverty was sold by her parents to a person who used her as an object of pleasure and as a result caused a large number of traumas and damage to her brain, where is the free will?
