What fabric do you recommend!? Thank you for such a great tutorial!
I use 100% cotton fabric. You could use a cotton polyester blend but it will work best if the cotton is a higher content. Stretchy fabrics will not work well because they will not hold the shape needed for the scarf. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Is this washable?
The beads inside swell once soaked in water. After they are activated you can rinse it out but do not wring it or the beads will pop. Keep sewing and thanks for watching.
This is a quick project. It is also cute!!! Thanks!
You are so welcome! They make great back to school gifts for students of all ages. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
thank you for giving the instructions
Glad you liked the project. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
I'm new to this UA-cam thing. I really liked your video. Instructions were great for a senior to understand. Not sure where to find the instruction or rather the description box here? I need to know what size the micro beads need to be
@sarashettlesworth5700 It is easy to find the description box. 1) Right underneath the video, you have the title of it. 2) Directly under that, will be another line with some basic information. Like how many views the video has, when the video was posted, etc. 3) At the very end of that line you will see the word “more” it will be in lower case letters, BUT in bold, so it stands out more. That is the link for the description box for every single video here on UA-cam. It is where the content creator can put additional information, links, etc.,. If you scroll down, you can also find the transcript for the video. (Not everyone uses it, but the vast majority will at least use it to some degree. At least the vast majority of the people I watch do.)
Hope you found the description box. Thank you @FernCurtis for your great directions. There is a link for the micro beads. I ordered mine off Amazon. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
@@SewLearnCreate You are welcome! 🙂
Love this idea! Great to attach to a gift card along with a book or book pillow etc. I think I will give some to book club members!
Glad you liked the project. You have some great ideas of ways to use the paperclips. I think book club members would love these. Thanks for watching.
You explain how to do this so clearly. Thank you for sharing how to do this! I have never sewn before. This looks like a fairly easy project. I want to make them for my elderly parents.
Glad you liked the tutorial and thanks for watching. They are great for all ages and I love that you are making them for your parents. Keep sewing!
Thank you for the excellent tutorial. It's nice to see one of these made without the Rotary cutters and the fancy quilting rulers.
You're very welcome! I try to show in my videos how to make a project without buying a lot of "special" supplies. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Thank you
You're welcome glad you liked the project. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Thank you!!!!!
You're welcome! These are fun to make and very handy also. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
What's measurements of the heart? I see theres a pattern. Is the pattern to size? TY
The heart measures approximately 4" x 4.5". The pattern is this size but you can make your heart any size you prefer. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Why wouldn't you bind it?
You could bind the heart to give it a finished edge. I did not bind mine because curved binding is a little tricky to me. Thanks for watching and the suggestion and keep sewing!
Found a quilted heart recently which led to the inspiration to try to learn to make them to help brighten someone else’s day, too! ☀️Thank you for the tutorial!
I love that you found a quilted heart and want to share that joy with others. Keep sewing and sharing kindness!

Thanks for the visit. Glad you liked the tutorial. Keep sewing!
Nice sewing/hobby room. Great set up. Can I be jealous?
Thanks for the nice comments about my sewing space. I am truly blessed to have such a great space. It has taken me 25 years to get it. My previous sewing space was very, very small. I have found that no how large the space it was always a joy to get to sew and create. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Do you think these would be ok for preschoolers? Can you sew in a ribbon handle for them to carry?
I would be careful using these with preschoolers because of the small marble. You could easily sew a handle on to carry it. Just sew the handle to the cotton fabric and be sure that it is tucked inside when you sew the two pieces together. Then when you turn it right side out the handle will be in the right place. If you are going to use it with smaller children I would go around the project twice to create a double seam before turning it. Also, just be sure that the small closure is sewn really well. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
I like your video. Very well explained.. I'm going to make some to keep my medical cards in
Glad you liked the project. They are fun to make and really handy. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Just watched again + made 4 more for friend who is going camping with relatives.
Glad you liked the project. I love that you are making them for others also. Creating something for someone else is half the fun of sewing. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
You didn't use warm batting? Do use the same time in microwave?
I cook mine for 3 or more minutes in the microwave. You might have to do a little experimenting to get the right amount of time for your microwave since they all vary to some degree. Also, I recommend to Not use the popcorn button on the microwave. The popcorn button cooks things differently and does not work well with these bags. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Thank you. Easy to follow directions.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Good project however i feel your video needs a safety advice note at the end stating the dangers of a child putting this into their mouths and if the marble/pearl were to come out its a choking hazard. So supervision of an autistic child or very young child who might not be aware of the dangers is needed. Thanks for the great idea though.
Thank you for the reminder about safety. I have added a note in the description to use caution when given to a child. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Use a glue stick to attach your velcro pieces temporarily to the fabric. No need for pins!
That is a great idea. Thanks for the tip. Keep sewing!
I love this project❤, but next time, could you please fray check the ribbon before putting it in the kits. Mine unraveled some.
I am so glad you liked the project. Thanks for the suggestion for the kit that is a great idea. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!

I just found your video love it. Wondering if you make these to sell and if so what would you charge. Tks for sharing
Yes, I do make and sell them in my Etsy shop webberworks.etsy.com. I sell them in a set of 2 - a large gripper and a small gripper for $6.50. The small gripper is perfect for tossing in a lunch box or purse to help open water bottles on the go. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
what kind of iron is that? what is the name of it and where can I get it? ty so much
I just uploaded a video about the small iron I use. I got mine at Walmart several years ago. They have changed the handle design since then but I put links in the description of that video for a couple of options. Thanks for commenting, I love to encourage others in their sewing journey.
I hope that you are still around .. the links no longer work..
Thanks for sharing that my links are not working. I am in the process of trying to figure out what the problem is and get it corrected. Thanks again.
love this. love the little iron and the clips instead of pins (I've been away from sewing for a while)
Glad you liked the project. They are easy to make and really add fun layer to any table setting. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Tried to make one of these just from written instructions. Was ok but bit wonky.+ Just something not right! Followed this now no longer wonky . Thanks
So glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!

You are a natural teacher...Excellent video for beginners...Looking for your popping instructions? Where might I find them. Also, I have about 1/2 of the kernels left no matter how many I put in the bag for popping. Is this normal? Thank You for your help 😊.
Thank you for your kind words. The popping instructions are in the description below the video. You might have to click the "more" button for the link to show. I always have some kernels left in the bag also. You might have to play around with the amount of time you use based on the watts of your microwave since they are all slightly different. Hope this answers your questions. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Thank you...found instructions after clicking more. God bless you!
Nice easy instructions to follow. Excellent taste mr csmera man 🦇

Thanks for sharing this. Where can I find the information about what you did with your scraps after you cut the heart out?

Be sure to check back for tutorials on some of the projects we made at the Makerspace Camp
Okay! I didn't think these were too involved. Got my mom's sewing machine several years ago and it is time to start using it...again. A friend of hers made these and gave them as gifts in the summer. She didn't divide them into thirds though. Yet some how the beads would stay adequately even throughout the thing. I often wondered what her secret was to achieve this. Anyways, after soaking it we would put them in the freezer to freeze. My contribution to this much needed necessity in the summer, is to wrap it around something before freezing. I use a Gatorade bottle, which is in there already half filled with water...on its side or angled... then finish filling it when frozen...that's the hydration part. But having your neckerchief pre-formed/round before freezing, makes it a bit more comfortable when putting it on. Also, have several at hand. After that things thaws and before it dry's up...or just swelled with sweat, your gonna want another one fresh and ready to go. ...now I just have to figure out, again, how to thread the sewing machine...It was another millennia ago the last time I used it. Thank God for the internet...
Thanks for sharing the info on freezing these. Glad you have broken out the sewing machine again. Thanks for watching and keep sewing! (Also, good luck with the needle threading)
i LOVED THIS PROJECT! I am in the process of making little Christmas gifts that can be mailed and these bags are perfect to add.
Glad you liked them. They are handy to have and do make great gifts. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Love the green clip red clip idea !
Glad you liked it!! I use it all the time to remind me to leave that opening. Thanks for watching and keep sewing!
Are you using 100% cotton? Or some other fabric?
I used 100% cotton fabric but you could use a cotton/polyester blend also. Thanks for watching.
Size.?? ❤
The finished size is approximately 3.5 inches x 7 inches. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
Good👍 thanks
