About brush 221: it depends on your age and skin care regimen. I recently developed SIBO and as a result have estrogen dominant acne. The treatment is Tretenoin topical ointment. Works great but makes your skin dry and scaly. The 221 causes microabrassions which is magnified 🔎 by makeup 💄 Let me know what you decide

You do not need to fast 36 hours. If you consistently do a 18 - 20 hours fast everyday, you will be fine. I lost 20 pounds doing this and dropped my A1C from 13.7 to 6.2 in 4 months. I am on a low carb diet with about an average of 50 - 80 grams of carbs daily. When I started, it was about 120 grams of carbs daily. I now eat more non-processed carbs with high fibre content. I have watched a lot of Dr Jason Fung's videos and my take from it is that for weight loss and blood glucose control, you need to eat low carbs as well as eat in a limited time window. The 36 hours fast is for other things like autophagy. One meal a day without snacking is a far better option when done almost daily.

If you are able, try a 36 hour fast during your next vacation or even your next few consecutive days off work. I think you'll find your blood glucose won't "go low". Until you have virtually zero body fat, your body will keep your blood glucose from going too low. I once fasted for 64 hours and my blood glucose never went below 75. Good luck to you and I enjoyed your video.

Hello I havent read the book but Ive watched her videos. My understanding of visibility clutter is the clutter in areas that are out in the open not behind closets or in drawers or cabinets. To declutter based on visibility you start with tables, counters open shelves etc. It doesnt require guests to start. Most people that have a lot of clutter dont want guests.

Thanks for your review. This is my favorite decluttering book of all time - and I have read many. I read it and then immediately read it again taking notes along the way. Dana's idea of getting the stuff out of the house and not just rearranging/organizing/trying to sell it has helped me so much. I am not sure it is a valid criticism about the visibility clutter as this book was written way before the pandemic. Although I am the only person walking through my front door right now, I still want to see a neat, uncluttered living room, kitchen, bedroom etc. And procrasticlutter is the perfect name for what causes piles of stuff that later has to be gone through! Trying to learn that lesson, for certain. Thanks again for your insights into the book.

I like your white walls, windows frames and doors. It looks clean. I just got Decluttering at the Speed of Life for free in the Kindle Cloud Reader, somehow. You must be so good at decluttering because I need storage areas! For sentimental items (they're important, so there are certain contained spaces for them), Christmas items, paper products we regularly use, sewing.... But I did make 2 craft containers into 1 today! Ok, about the visibility. My family does not have people over often even before the pandemic...however, I feel visual stress. Always. This is what motivates me personally, so it makes me feel peaceful when a space is decluttered, so that gets me moving. Years ago, I had a cleaning lady and did the same thing you do! Currently, I'm uncovering a ping-pong table that got in disarray when COVID hit. I've held onto things that had potential use in the future which Dana mentioned and I couldn't believe that actually struck a chord with me! But it's far more important that my son (18, not much longer here) whom I love gets to play on his Christmas present he received a few years ago. So this mess is visual and making something of ours non-functionable. And I like your review. We all get what we need out of these books we read.

I've come across some photos of what our home looked like about 6 months after moving in. It was spacious, bright, and looked very nice. Then I looked around and asked myself things like 'why all the throw pillows?'; two were fine in this photo. The entertainment center looked so pretty with three pictures so why are there so many when you can't see the ones in the back anyway? I found that helped me.

You don't need a guest to come to your house to see what a guest would see when they are at your front door.I don't understand your point. Also my husband very much has a high tolerance for clutter but marriage is compromise. So it doesn't have to be my way or his way.Its finding a mid way that we both can live with. The best way I found to help my husband see the clutter was controlling MY clutter.Once he could see how much better my dresser looked he started on his own to Declutter his dresser.

Great work! But know that shoes should NEVER be thrown away! The ones that are too worn out, broken, etc to donate because they simply cannot be worn anymore, can be RECYCLED instead! There are materials in some shoes, sneakers especially, that won't disintegrate for thousands of years! But they can be recycled! Never ever throw shoes in the trash! Also NEVER give to goodwill! They are NOT a charity and anything they can't sell in store, only shoes in really good shape, they throw away in the trash! Look behind a goodwill sometime at their industrial trash compactors and they are filled with things they can't sell for profit!

Thank you for your input. I had no idea about Goodwill. Also Recycling in Michigan has been difficult during The Pandemic. Will look into more options for old, worn out sneakers.

@@christinagowda3626 yes unfortunately they have a catchy name and people just willingly give to them with no afterthought! Sneakers are the easiest to recycle as nike can take them for their reuse-a-shoe program which turns them into playground foundations! Other shoes are more difficult but still very recyclable!

I agree with the previous comment, if you clean the areas that are visible rather than those that are hidden it will affect YOU in a very positive way.

Your complaint about the visibility concept is valid, but limiting. It’s just an easy to understand lense to use when looking at your space. Do you believe that you’ll never have guests again? Don’t you walk through the same doors? Also, you don’t declutter and clean for your guests, you do it for yourself and your family, because YOU deserve clean, relaxed, clutter free environments. One other way to look at the “guest” idea is to pretend you’re getting ready to sell your house and the realtor is coming to take people through on a tour. What will they see that will increase the value of your home and decrease the value of your home? Clutter makes for lower selling prices.

All my boys are grown but I agree...every subject in a different room is a great idea! :) I think the best way to find the visible clutter in your home is to take a picture of the room and then look at the picture. When we live in our homes we become "clutterblind" ...taking a picture gives you a new perspective on where your problem areas are for visible clutter.

Great idea. We just adopted Cal and filming is near impossible because our house looks like a subway station after rush hour! The camera picks up on our chaos that we either create or ignore.

I just found Dana's UA-cam's videos and have found them helpful. I consider starting with Visibility clutter the number 1 important thing to declutter. I don't consider the visibility based on visitors, but based on me seeing the clutter, since it is I who is being driven crazy every time I visibly see the clutter,,its a game changer!

Hey! Great take on the book. So, what I felt about Shalini's mother and the Kashmiri clothes vendor lacked substance and clarity more than me commenting on the conscience of the character. I felt the mother character itself a sort of forced, unrealistic, wanna-be-difficult because author wanted to write a difficult mother character but somehow it didn't work for me. The author could've created any bigger purpose for Shalini to pursue this trip to Kashmir, or some different rationale. But, the backdrop of why she goes there still leaves me not convinced. I particularly dragged myself through Shalini's childhood chapters. But, the present day chapters again are really good. There are a lot of convincing difficult mother roles or difficult childhoods, like children see what they see but, this book fails I believe in that aspect. But, it won literary prizes left and right despite that. Kashmir and the current day chapters, I guess had done the trick.

@@christinagowda3626 There's no denying how good Madhuri Vijay is with her writing, it is just that on what foundations she has written the flashback story was problematic with me. That aside, wish you all the best with your book. I hope you do as good as Vijay like you aspire. 😄🥂
