Stop gate keeping methods of doing hair. Black ppl have existed for centuries and trying to capitalize on doing hair a specific way is disgusting imo. Black women please grow up.

I have sister locs and do my own hair as a loc technician. But tired of the 4 point rotation and although I paid 1100.00 for installation I no longer care about the grid anymore. 150.00 retire every six weeks is why I took the class..

Knotted locks have been around for years. Melissa Blake did not invent, knottedlocks. She only brought it to the forefront. It's not hers. Do your research .
@@bossdivabarron1973 My Channel odd BY NO MEANS inferring that Melissa Blake invented tying knots in one’s locs. For this fact, there is NO RESEARCH REQUIRED. I believe MB is saying she has created a system for tying said knots and named it KL. Much like how we readily and widely accept the sl system for applying the interlocking method, which was here far before she created her grid, tool and certificate. At least, this is my understanding… per research.
@@bossdivabarron1973 Please excuse me if I misperceived your intent. I now realize you could have been saying MB didn’t create the Brand Name, Knotted Locs. I hadn’t heard of the brand name before her but I am always eager for growth through teachable moments.

That color is Beautiful on you, Kobe❤ Give me that shirt 🥰🥰🥰
@@thepublishedauthor Thank you for the compliment on my hair Dana! Chiii! My mom is buying them left and right! I didn’t think anyone would really notice because of the colors.
Yours are growing beautifully and I really like that color😊 I didn't really do a grid. I had decided to go for semi freeform, because my locs are smedium, due to my density. So, micro was not a good fit for me. Let's not discuss the retwists and my neck pain. Anyway, I also started using the sea salt and water on my hair, just at the roots, to help it loc faster. I made my own growth oil, from another ladies UA-cam with Fenegreek and some other ingredients, so I am seeing a little fuzz coming in my crown where my hair is really thin and right behinf my edges. I was already taking Biotin and Collagen, so I guess what I'm doing is working. I moisturize with Rosewater and the Wild Growth Oil. I have that Aloe Vera Juice also, but I haven't used it yet. Once my rosewater and peppermint oil mixture is all gone, maybe I'll do an Aloe Juice mixure because my hair is colored also, royal blue. I would say, what you're doing is working also. 🫰🏾🫰🏾🤗
Did you order the oil from Gi?
@Missey200134 I just received my oil. I'll let you know how it goes. The oil I was making took too much effort , with ordering all the ingredients.
Oh my goodness I just came across your video I love your microloc extensions and I 💕 the beautiful curls you have and you just go girl you go! 😆

Your locs are forming beautifully ❤
Thank you. I worry because I have a very bad case of Hand In Hair.
I'm lost! 3 point, 4 point, 2 point rotation? How do you do a knot on your own? ok I just saw the example of how to knot, you used a card to demonstrate, so how often do you knot it? And it make sense to me because when getting braids for example, the root of the hair has something stronger to hold on to that will allow your hair to grow stronger. Not sure if that makes sense. Great honest video, agree with you on a lot of what you both said.
@@charogordon1607 I never correlated it to the braid knot but you made a great point! Thanks for the words of compliment. It was a lot of fun!

Melissa does not own the process of knotting locs. None of these women own any of these techniques that been done for hundreds of years.
@@NevaScaredHo Correct! We are not saying Melissa owns tying knots in locs. It seems she has created a knotting system. This is prolly where she stakes her claim.
Exactly
She's not trying to steal brand, She asked MB for a solution because her locks was falling out and the whole 14 years that she's been with sister lock's. She never lost the lock, so she researched to find a better solution with knotting. And that's why she's sharing it with other women that was having the same problems that she had. An MB did not know how and would not tell them how to fix it.
Oh wow 2 weeks ago, where I been? I don't know Melissa Blake but I have watched Tunisia Ali's Butterfly Transformation channel for years and its very inspirational, probably why this came in my feed. I recall Tunisia had a second channel for Sister Locs, I didn't catch it much as I'm a silk press natural here but So sad to hear about the drama and wish both ladies the best.

This is beautiful. I’ve come to the conclusion though that when your hair is no longer manageable and you’re working for your hair instead of your hair working for you , it’s time for a cut. Yes , we want long hair but we want to enjoy our hair life as well and have hair freedom, that’s the whole point of Sisterlocs or Locs isn’t it? 😊

@@Kenya_D Thank you! I think Charmaine hit it out of the park in her statements!
Amen sister. I am so so so disgusted with Tanisha Ali. No good will come to her.
I think because sisterlocs was soooo exclusive and expensive Melissa went in the total opposite direction. Is it just me but does the guest remind anyone else of actress Jennifer Lewis.
@@tracistaples2004 Are you referring to her voice? It is very unique. She prolly doesn’t know it.
Yes her voice and she favors her a little too. She could be her little sister.
I started my shoulder length hair (4a corkscrew coils) with knotted locs; I don't have a defined grid. I just pulled a coil and knotted them at the base. I added knots along the length of the loc'd hair as I saw fit. I am 8 months in. I'm very happy with my results thus far. Right now, my hair is healthy and the locs are taking shape. I don't know how this will end up because I keep hearing there is a particular way that it should be done. But, what I've noticed is that the hair is loc'ing over the knots.
