We run a family farm here in South Armagh in Ireland.
Myself, my 2 brothers Gavin & Gary and my father Kevin run the farm.
We are farming approximately 200 acres, with around 100 head of cattle. We have quite a few bits of machinery to hand as we run the farm along side our plant hire business (KC Hire)
There does be plenty of wrecking, breakages and fallouts on the farm but its all in a days craic. We wont be hiding anything. No back doors with us.
We also will be doing a few reviews etc on the kit we have and any new machines coming in.
Please like and subscribe and drop us a comment.

Big Job On & We Need A Bit Of Advice....
Best tractor I've ever driven..👌
Yes lad you can buy one of it's no problem to lad 🎉🎉🎉🎉
It would be a struggle to even buy the tyres 🤣🤣
Really interesting to hear about adjusting the feed with straw-great to see everyone pitching in with advice! Farmers helping farmers! 🌾👏
Im looking forward to see the results in the next month or so. Ah I was delighted with all the advice. Great to see!
Great video 👌
Cheers Gary
Hi that was a great job with your newholland trater and great job with all your cattle to that's it until next year now 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi lad keep up the good work with your cattle and great black heifers to and great cattle 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi lad that's a class tarter and that's great work with all your cattle to keep up the good work with it all 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cheers lad. Ah she is a beauty. Would love to get her to work some day
Them cattle need twice the meal. Silage must be bad.
What horse power.is it happy.christmas all ye crew happy new year
Shes 360hp i think. Same to you and all the family.
Contractors say 24.7.arpund clock on fendt tractor some machine
Good sèe.back in action
Cheers Gerry
Too much holstein still growing for another year won't put on any weight
Good stuff
Another good video, ya should add once you put the stuff outside, it becomes a youtube.com/@papa-j-oilanddirt?si=lkkV4XgEABHy-ha- problem lol 😂😂😂
U should ask your vet about them calves they need some thing .could be copper.
Good man Conor. I love a tidying up job, seriously satisfying. Grand job done. That ride on mower sitting on the pallet, she for sale?
Ah it’s great when you get the time to get at it. I’ve a few projects to get working on so at least I have the room now. Have to get working on fixing the gator again 🤦♂️🤦♂️ yes the ride on is for sale. We are dealers for Stihl, Honda & Gardencare. That one there is just one that the pallet got damaged.
@Clarkesfarm I'm in the market for a 22inch push mower if you had one at black friday prices 😉 I have to admit I really do enjoy tidying up,gives you a great boost. That gator may need to hit the road I'm afraid when you fix it this time. Perhaps something different in the new year 👍🏼
Good man himself
Cheers Gerry 👌
Totally agree with cows are alot happier too to be out should put a concrete slab down for feeding them and then bobs is your uncle 😂
@@DonalKelly-wf1tp ah a concrete slab would be an unreal job. Would be a lot cleaner 🙈
Ya i sell most of them off the cow sep / October but i try and have good shape on them. Averaging over 1250 across the board for bulls and heifers but calving dragged on from march to may. I find great results from multimin. They trive great after it . U use it. Bullock weanlings worth more in spring i think than bulls..
Aye we would be creep feeding the weanlings from the middle of July. Average weight for the ones we sold were around 275-320kg. I was fairly happy with that. £1250 is super money for weanlings. Multimin. No ive never used it. But I would be keen to give it a go. At what stage do you give it to them?
Great video aye your right cattle do a lot better outside far healthier 👌
Cheers Gary. 😁
Love the video's and yes cattle way healthier out. Do you think weanlings would do better out and selling in the spring
Honestly Im not sure. Da would have always told us to take the weanlings in so we could keep an eye on the weight gains. Might be worth trying next year maybe
I tried a few most years . Last year i kept them in a tighter amount of ground less walking silage and meal 16% with a touch of barley and found they average weight gain about .85 kg more in some but main thing s were good shelter , warm place to lay and well dosed and plenty of minerals. They flew in the mart when out wintered and clean . Just seemed good. Decision this year will i sweeze or leave as bulls for selling in march
@@walterhalloran-p9x .85 is good going for them to be outside. They would be hardy animals. If I could get all my weanlings sold in October I would keep none over the winter to be honest. We were getting great money for the ones we did sell. We do ring all our bulls when they are born. Saves any need for squeezing.
I would like to clear my name, i never left the gate open, i went to the other entrance 😂
You can see in the video….it was clearly your fault…🤣🤣
Great video, very nice cows Where is the mountain?
Just behind our yard, aye happy enough with the cows, throwing good calves every year
Cheers👌 it’s only 2 mins away from our farm here. Very handy
That's a busy road behind u.
Aye that’s the main motorway from Belfast to Dublin.
Cows have a great time there. If u had shed there for feeding them they could go in and out and it be cleaner.
@EdwardBrady-ls6up that wouldn’t be a bad idea. Would be easier for feeding minerals and all also
@Clarkesfarm it be great job only problem the price of ready-mix is high .they say its 140 a metre.
@@EdwardBrady-ls6up It has got to be an awful price. Go to do any bit of work at all and it costs a small fortune.
Cattle do well outside. Are the replacement cows from dairy stock.
The Angus heifers? They are our own calves from last year. But all our cows would mostly be fresian cross cows. Great milk with them
@@Clarkesfarm do you find you compromise with the shape of your cald?
@@mannionjonny695 our calves? We do get some great calves out of the smallest of cows. Our best performing cow every year is our smallest. But in saying that, we have bought in 2 more beefier animals this year to see how they do.
Cattle do fare better out out and heather
No doubt about it. It’s hard to beat
Good see ya back in action
Cheers Gerry 😁😁
Great video, lad. funny the way you caught the animal coming out backwards for clipping.
Cheers lad. Was just easier than turning him round again 🤣
@Clarkesfarm It worked..😁
Cleaning sheds out is work in its self. Bobcat would be super for the job.
Ah it is surely. It takes up a right bit of time. I must try it with the bobcat the next time
Well lad great video, you should get a clippers for dagging sheep, a great job on dirty tails and dirty cattle
Funny you say that. I was looking at gerry6420’s video last night and his clippers seem to work far better than ours. Might be time to buy a set
Question for ya Conor. That green shed outside the wall,is that yours too? That hedge trimmer is a right job on a farm, keep the hedges trimmed and thicken them up 👍🏼
No that’s our neighbours shed. It went up in flames a few years ago. Aye hopefully over the next few years the hedges will fill out nicely.
@Clarkesfarm I was thinking the cladding looked like it got scorched. Is it still being used? I have to say, your a fair handy man with the clippers 🤣 If you put a bit of straw on the scales the cattle are less jumpy when walking onto it 👌🏼
Aye he has it full of fresian bulls at the moment. He used to keep straw in it when it went up on fire. I’m sure you can imagine how quick it went up 🙈🙈 I’m thinking I could near try get a job in the barbers 🤣🤣
Great video 👌
Cheers Gary
"That man talks some shite....." Best statement I've heard on youtube in ages. Brilliant 😂😂😂
Ah he definitely talks plenty of it! 🤣🤣
@Clarkesfarm 😂😂
Them blocks a not much good .better feeding it on silage.
We do put it on the silage aswel. Just thought the blocks would be a good way for them to have access to all day. Ah we will test it for this year and see how it goes.
👌
Cheers Gary 😊
Stock are looking really excellent.
Cheers man. We had a great year with them.
You have great looking cattle ,plus you have all de gear to make feeding easy ,
Cheers man. It’s the joys of having a hire shop aswel. Wouldn’t have half the gear if the farm was to pay for it all 🙈
Love the a/c in the class 😅
Stone flew out of the dung spreader 🙈
Some job that feild
It’s in some shape now 👍
You were missed last week Conor. Whats the best way to contact you, I've a question about a small bit of machinery. 👍🏼
Ah you can give me a shout on 07760164321 👍
Great video lads 👌
