Got myself an JP8000 last year, it has been my dream synth for +20 years, haven't disappointed me for a second. Even better that it comes with 2 MIDI channels for double the awesomeness (unless you use a Performance ofc). Also got myself an AN1x a few weeks ago, combined these two are just the best lead singers of my band I could wish for <3 Keep on rocking that 8080!

Still much better than the GAIA, or anything Roland are doing these days (OK the JP-80 and Juno-X are OK)

I never knew that many sounds I recognize right away from tons of songs came from this little awesome device, one to keep an eye one. I am sure it still can do wonderfull things in a midi studio nowdays!

Ummm.. Ok, well.. good effort & I'm sure it's appreciated by those who want to hear it... but I gta be honest , this video frustrated me.. I saw you had afew "demo" vids so I dno bout the other ones, but this popped up on UA-cam a suggested thingy.. Ur lucky they're suggesting u, so don't waste the opportunity.. Anyway to the point.. Why it frustrated me is that it seems you're still learning about it, which is great, but believe me, the unit has many lil tricks up its sleeve & the manual will come in handy. Thing is u spent something like 4min on the trance mission patch.. Not trying to be rude but it's a waste of time calling something a demo then wasting time noodling... Like I said, don't waste the opportunity of UA-cam suggesting ur vids.. Anyway, to help you along.. The unit has 2 modes, patch & performance.. U were jumping between the two & the presets u were showing were all over the place coz they were linked to the performance, not the patch as an individual. Also, u were predominantly selecting the upper portion of the performance with the kb split to dual... This basically plays both sounds at once, unless you've split the midi into accepting 2 different channels, which by the sounds of it, that's how it's been set up.. In any case, if you just want demo one sound, keep it on single mode. This will give you access to all 10 voices. In split, it's set up to newest note priority. When browsing presets, put it in patch mode, select upper or lower kb range, then cycle thru them. U can assign upper lower wen saving a copy or setting up performance. I was looking to find one patch which I can't reproduce (I sold my jp8000 11yrs ago) & I've watched pretty much every JP video out there, but that's coz no one's actually cycling through the patches lolll. So that's been my mission since 2018 after I decided to rebuild the studio ...Anyway point is, u can move patch to patch smoothly without it being a headache Ok, next thing, u jumped to performance 11.. Now I dno if your playback device sending midi to the JP & ur sending a program change message resetting the patch or if you're jumping to it deliberately .. I counted that sandstorm patch activated 3x... & it's REALLY frustrating hearing the same thing 3x over with just the cut off & envelopes being messed with. I know your exploring, but that's not what I came here for & I don't wna be an ass but you've got good machines here & potential for some great content... Don't waste it dicking around & turning ppl off.. If u wna noodle, great, but let us know bruh.. K back to the synth & making a demo video.. Patch mode, cycle thru the presets, play a chord or play an arpeggiator, twiddle afew knobs etc & move on.. Toss in some opinions & thoughts & leave it at that. Read the manual & learn how to use the machine to get the most out of it. When saving a patch, save as normal (as a master copy) but also toss a copy in its respective upper lower spot (let's use lower in this example) , then save as a performance with that patch in the lower spot IN that performance .. . For ur next sound, switch back to patch mode, select upper range, do ur edit & save, now with the patch in upper position, save this to the SAME performance number u saved the lower patch to.. NOW the fun part.. Switch to performance, pick ur newly saved performance & go to ur key assign area (left of the lcd) & ul see single, dual & split... select split.. U now have 2 sounds activated, each with their own respective midi channel., each controllable in full via midi obv... On the front panel, the one named /highlighted (upper or lower) will be tweakable. Ul see which it is wen u see the u or l next to the performance number (more of that in a sec ) UL see on the display next to the patch /performance number an "u" & "l" . These represent upper & lower on ur kb range & a "*" means uv done some editing.. It won't tell you the reset point though..so just keep tabs... The midi on this is improved over the 8k, but be aware to switch this on AFTER you load up or power on ur sequencer. I never had issues but some ppl have had crap midi issues. Good luck with the channel.
