I’m impressed by the sailors, but honestly I don’t understand why you’d want to own or sail that boat single-handed. Tippy, low freeboard, expensive, and not good for casual sailing at all. I’ve sailed since 1963 and cats since 1971. A modern non foil cat would be much more fun and forgiving than these boats. We sailed our cats right off the beach. But with chutes in a NACRA we were hitting 24 knots, and yes the boat was safe enough (with chase boat) to sail to 25 miles offshore to Channel Islands.

Thats the first one man boat iv seen with a spinnaker.

I think, you should make at least one full video racing.

Great to find this video series, been looking at a musto skiff for a while now, but always felt like too big a jump (currently sail a Laser 1), hoping this series will convince me I can take it!!

Once you start getting over-powered you can raise the daggerboard too. Anything from 5cm raised, to so high that the boom only just clears (if you are very light). Most people would go 5cm-15cm raised (the stronger the wind the higher you raise it).

Hello Musto world, looks like spectacular racing! I have just bought USA 197 based in Long Island Sound, NY and haven't even set the spinnaker yet... steep learning curve. Is anybody near me?

Heavy wind musto skiff racing is so much fun because it’s less about maximising speed but more about staying upright and nit crashing

the aerial shots are just breath-taking - now everyone can see Musto Skiffs in all their glory!
