Today is my birthday 6/6 I turned 22 but yesterday 6/5 around 10pm my mom and brother started arguing things got heated and she told him to let it go now, but he kept bringing stuff up from the past. And I got so mad I went in there and yelled “okay, enough” I had more to say but I choked up. And I could feel the tears coming, I don’t know why though. But my brother said “ oh don’t say that to me, stop, mind your own damn business” I was going to say “stop fighting! Tomorrow is my birthday and we were supposed to eat together and celebrate” And I’m a shy person so when I yelled that, my other siblings all laughed at me for “yelling”, and started to make fun of me. I don’t know why my hands started shaking after I left the room. I felt weak and embarrassed for even opening my mouth. I wish I could go back to that moment and not say anything. But after my brother left outside my mom came in my room and she said “thank you honey, for trying to de-escalate the fight, your brother is set in his ways” in the end I thought it was brave to stand up for once, but that failed miserably.
