Wow, the Jacklyn is a beaut!
oh its fast growing carnivore plant
Big time
Great info, I will keep ya updated on my greenhouse
@@frostylonewolf1700 thanks, Frosty!
@@wellspringgardens for me to keep 2 banana plants warm during winter in zone 4b i would need at least 250 watts of heat for optimal growth and thats less then 7 hours of run time on my 140ah battery
great news i can keep it at 55 to 60 at night with inverter for banana plant after 9
That is EXCELLENT news! What's the temperature at night these days?
@@wellspringgardens sometimes its 30's at night last night it was 33, tonight it will be 30, normally november is below 30 so its warmer out then usual
@@frostylonewolf1700 Still that's a 25-30 degree difference you're making. It's significant.
@@wellspringgardens well yeah except that once the inverter shuts off by 7 in the morning it drops before 8 in the morning this morning it went down to 37 when it was like 33 outside, that won't be good for december it could get below 30
i will let ya know how warm i'm able to keep greenhouse at night with banana plant inside
It should be able to stay alive if you throw a frost cloth over it.
i had looked it up chicago hardy fig tree hardy down to zone 6, 5 and 6 given winter protection
i'm using a inverter with a heater and flower pots as a secondary heat source only at night
@@frostylonewolf1700 how’s it working out?
@@wellspringgardens its working out okay i had added more insulation for double bubble reflective foil
I loved seeing these in Glendale, CA. But now I live in Oklahoma (very heavy drought followed by ridiculous ice-not snow: ICE storms). How long would I need to leave it in a pot before I could safely plant it outside to fend for itself?
It might never survive on its own in Oklahoma. But if you wanted to experiment - knowing it might not survive - I would leave it in a pot and transplant it in the spring once it reaches ~5-feet tall.
Lil man singing in the back 😂❤
These are all over PHX. AZ. The native Phoenicians told me this was an Australian tree🫤
They are so popular in Australia, but sure enough not native to Australia 😂
Thanks to @beyondflorida for the feature!
The stock footages kinda ruin it for me. I was showing this vid to someone like "look at this nice purple tree" and it cuts to hibiscus opening. 😅
😂 that’s good feedback. Like the one with the lady smelling the flower? Could she look any more awkward?
@@wellspringgardens it’s true mate, felt like she was a bit too into it lol 😂 If you want some feedback, here are some suggestions below! Firstly, you should trust your instincts. If something feels weird to watch for you, it probably does for your audience. Think about what you enjoy to see and take note of it. Second, I would have liked to see reasons why beyond looks I would want this tree. Or care about it? Like cool that girl popularized them, why do I care? I can look at a picture of a pretty plant, but you can tell me facts about the plant. You know? I might be biased because your title drew me in because I wanted a more informative video.
@ solid feedback! Thanks for taking the time to put your thoughts together here.
@@wellspringgardens ofc! Hope to see your channel grow! Good luck! 🍀

Talk talk talk talk well when welll mr lanez !
Gonna REVERSE blow-your-mind... Go ahead and find out what the exact taxonomic qualification for "tree" is. Then tell me that Japanese are wrong about bamboo being culturally thought of as a tree. Then go and re-visit the banana argument from that earlier nit-picker. Don't get me wrong - when I was younger, I fought tooth and nail about teaching people "no, that's just a LARGE GRASS". Imagine my shock to find out that I did those large grasses a disservice by declaring them "not trees" just because of a culural bias that purported itself to be founded on scientific principles...
You’ve given me a lot to think about. Plants don’t put themselves in categories; people do.
Now I'm waiting for the Sarracenias vs Sundews vid, and the restock. 👀
Aww yeah, that’d be sweet!
Neither. My Saracenia Flava are constantly overflowing with flies in the summer months (UK).
Sarracenias are underrated for sure
It’s dead. And that is a dud tree that will not fruit
How do you explain the new growth? This one already fruited, so you are correct, it will not fruit again. But that has nothing to do with it being a dud.

What carnivorous plant - of any type - do you think is the most effective at catching bugs?
Sarracenias for the win
you forgot the nepenthes rajah!!!!!!!😠😠
@@Amongus-xh3rf that one is seriously frightful!
i had a massive fungas knat infestation comeing out of a lot of my other plants and fliies as well i dont have flytraps havent had the money for any at the moment but i have 8 different types of nepenthes a butterwort and three sundews between all of them the sundews cought the most there were so many fiungas knats that every single leaff was just coverd in black specs afer a bout a week i used my mister to wash the dew off and clean the leaves snese in nature the rain does that and that allowerd them to last longer and not be overwelmed as well
If we made a video comparing all types of carnivorous plants, and all bugs counted the same, I think the Sundews would be clear winner. They really are so effective at taking out gnats. I call them nature's fly paper.
