Interesting analysis here and i agree with a lot of it! Nashville fan here: this is gonna be a big test for us for even the rest of the playoffs. If we win but still push to full game 7 we probably won't be able to solve the playoffs this year. Specifically because of two things overall: Demko and Turnovers. Our playstyle, if not tight loses to turnovers and breakaways out the wazoo. And if we can't solve a goalie it doesn't matter how many quality chances we get. Our playstyle changed so much this year from our former defensive minded Laviolette and whatever the f, Hynes put us through. So if we solve Demko, keep penalties to a minimum, and keep ourselves out of dangerous offensive turnovers, we have a shot. The problem is running the past 10 games had an issue with all 3 of these issues. So, funnily enough and with that all said, it's gonna come down to a few things during the games themselves beyond playstyle: Can fil, ROR and Josi dance around Hughes so that they don't get control? Can Juice do better (bit of a down year but we know he can pull through, he just plays SO MANY games), and can we control the offense WITH scoring goals. We need to control the energy because Vancouver is a HUGE test of control of the puck with no breakaways. Great video, just some thoughts of my own before the first game tomorrow, I know we are the underdogs and definitely have room to grow (skill and even cap space wise) but I hope we can pull off that cinderella story.

That opinion of Andrew Whocares was not a hockey opinion! Not in the least. It was a direct attack on Hyman and his upbringing. Hockey is merit-based. He’s played with the best players because of his hockey IQ and work ethic.

This can be said for Andrew over me: he kept his video below 3 minutes. It's a talent I have yet to develop.

There are a lot of Ontario transplants in Edmonton, that is for sure. And I think the Oilers have 11 or so Ontarioans on the team. Oilers seem to have lost their way a bit - they are playing very sloppy lately. I’m not sensing much of a playoff run. They pounded non-playoff buffalo and then got spanked by Toronto and frankly Ottawa. Still time to tighten up but the warning signs are there.

I neglected to mention: there wasn't much of note between the big stars for both teams as they did well to neautralize each other. McDavid and Drai played with each other in the second and third, which may have had something to do with Edmonton getting outshot in the last two periods, but Edmonton did end up scoring 2 to the Avs 1 in those two periods (coming from depth forwards though).
