HO Scale Crossing Gates SWP Seeley Beet Job
Переглядів 11 тис.4 роки тому
SWP 4400 brings a string of empty beet cars to Seeley, CA to include a couple of cars for the local Simplot facility. Due to the abundance of cars in Seeley, the crew will head caboose first back to El Centro with their loads of sugar beets.

HO Scale Wig Wag Signal

I model the Imperial Valley of Southern California, more specifically El Centro, Seeley and Plaster City, CA. The layout is set in present day and the railroad company is SouthWestern Pacific Transportation Company. The trackage in the Imperial Valley is former Southern Pacific territory, which was purchased from Union Pacific in 1998, two years after the merger with the SP. SWP is a regional c...

HO Scale American Limited Wig Wag Crossing Signal
I have always been looking for something like this but have had no luck so far. where do i purchase this?
Very impressive!--Tomar Industries
Very nice and convincing. In my book, that can pass for southwestern Kansas, particularly on the old Rock Island to Tucumcari, NM. nevertheless, nice job. Keep it up. Kudos and cheers!
DAMN, looks amazing! i love your dessert scenery! Ever thought about doing a video on how you get that look? The ballast on the layout looks perfect
Hi. Thanks for the compliments. I haven't thought about that, but I will see what I can do.
I have just always used the Bachmann E-Z Track crossing gate.
Cool video and channel just subscribed
Ha ha "I know it's not the best" Man I have to tell you, that is amazing! Don't worry about the people who gripe, you are doing an excellent job. Liked and subbed, and I'm going back to watch all of your video's. Thank you for sharing your layout. Dave B.
You are the best 👌 👍
Again Awsome
Nice Railroad crossing in Ho scale
I thought it was real at first! The gate lying around in the title is pretty realistic, considering Railroads usually leave broken ones beside the tracks.
Looks good 🤠
It works. Excellent. I see rail joiners
Please upload more
Nice work
Lots of great details in this scene!
You should see the rest of the layout. Amazing
WOW that is just to cool!!! I dig on the Southern Pacific caboose and the crossing gates and lights, that is awesome and what's really cool is the flashing yellow beacon in the background!! Its never to late to have a happy childhood and I just turned 60 in March and your layout definitely brought the kid out in me!! Thanks buddy and nice job 👍🛑🛑
Great crossing. I like the utility poles and other details as well.
I thought this was a real scene when I first wandered upon it, mostly due to the sky and the wires on the telephone poles! The wires on the poles REALLY makes a HUGE difference to an HO scale layout! And the sky! WOW!!!! How did you do this?
Is this by any chance arduino ?
No, this motorized kit is from American Limited Models.
@MrChev95 ok Kool thank you. It looks great
Where did you get the railroad crossing signal?
NIce video!
Are these scratchbuilt? I noted the extra lights for the side rosd.
Who makes the crossing gates and the blinking traffic light in the background? Looks awesome!
That is a scratch built model I did. Street light too.
@@MrChev95 NICE work! Love the scene!
That lighting is just superior! You need to do one at night!
Great job on the signals, but what really struck me was the hazy sky. Did you do that with a post filter? Or did it just come out that way? Take care - Bill.
Hi Bill, the backdrop was painted by me using regular latex paint , light blue, then mixing in white while it's wet near the horizon line. It's a technique I learned from the staff at MR magazine. No filter.
This is awesome, can you give us a tour of the layout?
We need a full tour of this unique layout
Very Nice! The is a gentleman in Indiana who also did this. He used a Kadee coupler spring for the power to the LED. He said it took the flexing quite well.
Wow that's crazy. I'm in the process right now of rebuilding it, using Kadee coupler springs! Lol!!
Fabulous installation! Love the signals for the side road and the lights on the gates.
When are you going to Upload more?
Did you go to my Instagram?
No can you send link?
This is really cool! From the railroad crossings to the grass to the powerlines! It looks all realistic thank you for sharing this I know I probably already said this but do you know where you got those railroad crossings? Even though they’re custom made?
These are NJ International signals. Heavily modified. Thanks for the compliment. I strive to make everything look as real as possible. I have layout pics on my IG - Chev95
Thanks so much for the information!
I like how realistically slow the gates are! Especially with the gate lights to compliment it!
Can you possibly give me a brief rundown on how you made those custom signals?
These are NJ International signals that I stripped down and rebuilt the lights, targets, and hoods. The gates are also new as the original ones were too short.
@@MrChev95 what material did you use for the gates? I was thinking about replacing some gates on my signals as well.
@@BNSF5621 flat brass stock.
@@MrChev95 Thank you sir I appreciate it!
@@MrChev95 I'm sorry last question, what LEDs did you use for your gates themselves?
Id be interested in seeing the traffic beacon in the background!
Very impressive work !
So realistic
Where do I get these crossing gates ?
Cool
Very nicely done.
Spectacular crossing like how they added lights to the gates now
Thank you. I had to add the LED's to the gates. The originals were non-operating.
Oh OK I thought they came that way lol but anyway they still look fantastic
Love it! A type of signal You don't see much anymore. I wish they were more of them around.
Spectacular detail and installation!! You should do an article about it.
This layout looks very realistic!!!
Wow beautiful model railroad very realistic looking but would be better without the music would love to hear the actual sounds
That was my first real video. I'll make future ones that are more realistic.
Hi there. Great working model you have there. Other than the American Limited model kit, what parts did you use to make the signals work and the add sound? Thank you.
Love this layout and videos. Curious how big is the layout, what size radius curves u use and last but not least do u have or can u do an overall videos of the layout.
Hi. Thanks for the compliment. The layout consists of several modules in a 20' x 20' garage. SWP is a regional shortline that purchased the tracks in the Imperial Valley from UP. I plan on doing more videos, I just have to get some more items done first.
@@MrChev95 awesome look forward to it. I grew up in calif so I love to see things I remember seeing as a kid
Weird seeing all those Southern Pacific and Burlington cars in there then a BNSF hopper in the crowd.
SWP is a modern Regional Short Line that still runs beets out of the Imperial Valley. Those "woodies" were retrofitted with roller bearing trucks to make them FRA compliant after 1994. I haven't had time yet to change reporting Mark's and weather them. This was a beet job with a delivery to Simplot Soil Builders.
