Thank you
I have a 2015 Grand Cherokee Altitude. Drove it to the store with no problems. Left the store and tried to start it. It cranked but would not fire up. I tried it 2 more times but no luck. I tried it a 4th time but this time while it cranked, I stepped on the gas. It finally started up but with some rough engine shaking. Left it running for 10 minutes then drove home. After a smooth ride home, I shut it off for about 15 minutes. Tried starting it up again and it came on with no issues. I shut it off again and put it in ACC mode. Checked the voltage level on the battery and it read <8. The Jeep still has the original battery which is due for a replacement but was the long cranking with no startup just a battery issue or something else?
Will this make the heat blow hotter
I took a grinder to an open end wrench and cut the end off and it worked alright. What a terrible design for mounting shocks.
@@AaronWerner I absolutely agree love my hemi and mopar however they could have done better here for sure
Thanks for the demonstration 😄
@@DeadRising95 no problem
My 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee summit started coming to the intersection to make it right and it slowed down and stopped and won't start. everything else works lights and all but my Jeep won't start and get out of park and you cannot shift it into reverse or neutral. but I did try to unlock it with a pin underneath the stick shift I got it into neutral but I can't roll the vehicle since I have to get it off the road I ended up towing it since the rear wheels are locked. does it sound familiar? I'll check the circuit breaker
@@StarOasis26 did the battery come loose do you have lights or any electrical function?
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HOW YA PUT THE NEW ONE BACK IN AND RUN THE WIRE
Excelente. Sirvió bastante ya que no cargaba el alternador. Gracias.
Mine is doing same thing now. Replace Alternator it actually started up and drove it for about 5 minutes. Then shut it off Only the dashboard will light up with no Start. Will check that fuse block. Like i said it was jump start from Another vehicle and charged that way also. I hope thats the issue
Mine is doing same thing now
Is another name for it. Headlight fuse box? It looks exactly like it.

Oil catch-can can help
Great video! Been worried i needed a special tie rod tool.
@@ryanv7195 ya the tool can be helpful of course. However I would not say that’s it completely say necessary depending on what you are working on
@partsandlabor I'm happy to hear that. I'm doing my 2011 ram 1500 and researching those special tools I keep finding reviews that many don't work on trucks depending on size. Using an adjustable wrench saves me from having to buy one. Solid video!
@@ryanv7195 glad to hear it helped. Extra piece of advice spraying some wd-40 or rust penetrant on those tie rod ends makes it way easier to get them out as well
❤
2014 Ram = I bought a 21mm wrench and bent a 90 degree in it. Worked good, hope I don't have to do it again 😂
@@HuntersHavenWithChad ya that’s fab work creating custom tools hold on to that wrench
Crow foot or a wrench won't work? I'm about to find out when the sun comes out.
@@martyconsidine8628 if you don’t have the tool I used @HuntersHavenWithChad 👆had a great idea just get a cheap 21mm wrench and heat it up then bend it however you need
Thank you!
@@WinnerTowing no problemo
Don't do this
Same problem on my jeep but when I replace the burnt fuse , the new one burns up and have to keep replacing the fuse over and over again . What do you think would be the problem?
@@JonyVela-n5s something touching somewhere possibly short to power short to ground. Next move probably be looking for any obvious damage to wire harness and/or connectors look for frayed/burnt wires connectors that look melted may have to get a wiring diagram and start tracing wires
Its shorting. Trace that cable from the positive jump start terminal under the hood, through the firewall and under the seat to where it hooks up to the battery. Sounds like there’s a short in that wire. Something probably rubbed through the rubber, and exposed the copper, and it’s shorting against something metal in there that’s grounded.
Kia /Hyundai , snow/rainy part of the country, glid pins & bores gotta be cleaned & lightly regrease every 18 months. Brake pads wear out premature just like in this video.
Whats your strategy to install a new one?
You can try getting bolt started by hand if you do not have room to fit your hand you can use electric tape around bolt and socket so it doesn’t fall off while getting it into place
@@partsandlabor you know installing the new part was pretty easy compared to removing the old one!!
@@jamesstrickland5387 pops right in glad to hear you were able to complete the repair
@@jamesstrickland5387 it’s also helpful if the old parts are not covered in old oil grease or dirt and debris
What kind of tool did you use to get the bolt out? Not great with names or tools
A socket with a swivel I believe it was 11mm and a long extension on a 3/8 or 1/4
The video 1:08 in has a good image
Thank you
@@jamesstrickland5387 no problemo
ua-cam.com/video/owKpcK7Q13Y/v-deo.html No need to remove anything to be able to replace the sensor
You’d need to remove the sensor to replace the sensor
That 8'x8' square sure looks pretty rectangular...
It tapers toward the top
Where did you purchase this from?
Walmart plus if you don’t have that you can download Walmart app I’ve also seen similar set ups on Amazon and Temu habor freight as well

After replacing the fuel pump Im now having a problem with a vapor lock and my new pump is making a ringing/humming noise off and on-is there a way to fix it with a inline check valve or inline filter of some sort. I have to release pressure on the fuel rail to re-crank it after it runs for more than 20 minutes/ which is a possible fire risk.
Possibly *clogged fuel and/or vacuum line *faulty fuel pressure regulator *clogged injectors Might try to hook up a gauge to fuel rail and check pressure I believe it should be between 40-60 psi
Also fuel pump will make a light humming/buzzing noise when in use
@@partsandlabor ok thanks-wish you were closer to me- so I could let you check it out :)
@@partsandlabor is there a line i can connect to the fuel rail so as to bleed it away from the engine so as to eliminate a fire hazard- all it takes is just to release that pressure and then it cranks right up- once running its just fine
@@MississippiWopGenius396 No problemo. I’m in south Geogria area and frequently travel to texas Please reach out and let me know what you find. As I said fuel pressure test may be a good place to start and check for pinched fuel and/or vaccum lines
Can I drive with the high engine temp warning on?
I wouldn’t recommend it. Does the temp gauge read hot?
Sometimes there is no play.. only when its too bad! Mine the rear got destroyed, loose needle bearings rusted, total mess. The front was good. I replace the back with a greaseable one.
I replaced fromt and back on this it was a Jeep Liberty customer had a concern for vibration. Also I have heard they can also get bad and sieze up however I’ve never personally seen that happen
Why is it not called a cross joint?
That is an awesome question
The u-joint is a part of the drive shaft and a part of the rear diff what year replacing is called a spider
Master pro part number 369 on oriellys website under detailed description names it to be a universal joint
I worked for neapco driveline and they build drive shafts and when they install the spider in there it was confusing me to.
@@Matthew82johnson interesting indeed
Only use silicone on the sliding caliper pins.
Change main fuse which it was bad but still no start
Does the vehicle still crank? Does the engine turn over?
How did you get the screw off to pull off the cover for the big fuse
Go 23 seconds into the video I believe it’s a 10mm under the red cover it looks like a fixed post it should unscrew
I would have washed the dirt off first
That’s west texas
I almost gave up after I couldn’t find it at any store but a month later I got it
Hey that’s great
you went from the shift linkage side over the bell housing? bow - down!!!
Yes went over top of bell housing
great footage indeed and without taking out the the starter. Houdini would blush.
Thanks
Is the 2014 equinox the same under the hood as the 2011
I believe so take a look under towards the back side of motor see if you see that sliver insulator that looks kinda like a foil cylinder is there
I wanna say it’s setup the same way
thanks boss simple to follow and i got it done
No problemo glad it helped
Same situation! Your video was very helpful! Thank you very much!
Glad it helped
No crank no start? Or did it still crank?
I believe it was no start and no crank
I just changed this sensor in my daughter's 2012 Terrain 2.4L. Yours is the only video that actually shows where the sensor is on the car! Thank you. I didn't even need to drain any coolant. Only a few ounces came out when I removed the old one. Thank you for making this! Rick
Absolutely so glad to hear that it helped
Thanks for confirming how much coolant comes out. I'm doing this repairs in a couple days
Doing this replacement now. Thank you for your expertise. Very helpful.
So I replaced it but still have the same problem.
May take a look at the connections and wires leading down as well. Make sure pins on the connector are not crushed or pushed in. Make sure if there is a rubber insulation that it’s not preventing contact to sensor.
What is roughly the amount you would charge for this job on this truck
“Roughly” between 900-1300 best way to figure just find out what it would be labor hr wise and then times in by labor rate. So if your labor rate is 80 per hr and the book calls for ten labor hrs then its 80x10=800 then of course considering parts fluid and miscellaneous
How do you remove the first screw to get the cover off
Battery cover under seat?
It’s so funny because you younger guys would rather steal a quote from some fool that said it and then posted online for your child. I’m thanking God that I am old enough to where my father was a real man and actually give me advice to my face
Thanks! I didn't realize that the insulation was covering the sensor while I was searching and looking all around period thank you!
Yes if I were to do it again I would definitely have mentioned the insulator extremely thankful for the other person in comments pointing that out
I bought the "special tool" to do it. Fucking worthless. Just grab a 21mm wrench and cut it. Save yourself the headache lol.
Yes or you can get a long extension try to go over gas tank
Perfect video, everyone should describe stuff like this guy, thanks sir issue solved
Thank you
This video was very well needed !!!!! ❤🎉 This video def needs to be easy to find. Fixed my problem . 09/06/2023
Was your fuse block blown? My jeep isn’t even making clicking noise so I’m assuming this is my problem
@@edgarpadilla1727 yes mines was blown . Same fuse . Ordered part today for $103 from dodge landmark jeep. And it fixed my problem.
Did you have starter tested ? Someone is recommending me to get that checked but dealerships are expensive
@@edgarpadilla1727 try to see if an auto parts store in your area will check the starter for you I know some of the battery tester they have will also test the starter as well I believe most offer as a free service and do not charge you. if not you can always try actuating from starter relay in the fuse box
Is it the same part for a 2019?
