The GS land is kinda meh, mostly the TCS and that awful aerial thrust atk, same with Sns helm splitter. It's like hitting a toilet paper.

I only have one complaint. If u compare the visual impact of the weapons at least for me wasn’t as nice as in world. In world you were almost able to feel the hits irl. So I hope that the impact will be better in the full release

I agree with a lot of your points here! What i most enjoyed was the additional things that they added to the weapons. I mostly used the greatsword, and having finally gotten the ability to rotate during TCS and having a counter ability feels amazing! All the weapons have a new spin on them and that makes me really happy. I did have some issues running on PC as well. I didnt really try to change the settings for the graphics. But ran into an issue where my game wouldnt launch. Turns out i had to remove the client crash reporter from my files, which is a really odd fix. To your last point, i would agree. I wish we got to see more of the crafting system and the weapon trees. One of my biggest criticisms with World was how bad the weapon designs were. Coming from previous titles, all the weapons looked awesome to me! But in World, it was the same base metal or bone weapon with a slightly different color. So im a little nervous of how the weapons will look in mid to late game. And not having the ability to look at the weapon tree adda to that worry. But overall, great experience, super excited for what is to come!

I loved everything except my main… the insect glaive. The kinsect was slow (which I can get around cause it carries two buffs at a time) , but the lack of aerial fighting with the glaive was sad. Especially when I spent the majority of time in World and Rise teaching myself to do the entirety of the fight in the air

I’m kinda disappointed in the weapon changes for the stuff I liked to play, my buddies are all using the cool bow, great sword and long sword and coming from both world and rise I was so let down (I get it’s early beta) that the switch axe felt like a strong downgrade from rise with the counter having insane chip damage where long sword gets non for every counter. I also felt switch axe sword mode lasted not nearly as long as it should from previous games, it felt super restrictive. I didn’t mind not having Ariel on IG but I would’ve liked a perfect dodge or something like bow or duel blades to make up for it as the rising spiral slash isn’t a one piece fits all move to spam imo. I hope we get Tonfas back for Ariel weapon gameplay if we get a new weapon or just heavy improvement to my babies lol

Few people have talked about it since it normally isnt a big part of the game but I am happy with how the story and characters are looking so far. The intro was interesting (at least more so than World and Rise) and the characters seem to behave normally instead of like anime carricatures (I like anime but well World was pretty bad). They finally gave the Hunter a voice so that they dont have to do the wierd silent protagonist stuff anymore which is a trope that I feel has long since outlived its welcome. Its still a MH game so I am not expecting Shakespear but maybe this time there is a reason to not just mash through dialogue.

Cancelled my preorder. The game has absolute shit optimization at the moment. Hopefully they can sort it out before release, but until then I’m not giving them money.

I hope they are saving the new weapons to reveal its been sooo long since new ones since the glaive isn’t so air based now hope they have one that is

Hammer felt lovely as always but kinda feel it didn’t get much new stuff besides the swinging move and charge step and the mounting move too similar to the hunting horn ngl

I reeally hope they tweak the dual blades, just trying to do regular combos felt like pulling teeth compared to both world and rise. As though it was super unresponsive and sluggish. I take dual blades to be responsive and keep up an utterly constant attack but the new perfect dodge thing now means instead of being proactive and avoiding danger zones, avoiding attacks, i have to now be reactive to the monster. It need to actually attack near me and i have to perfectly read what attack is coming and have excellent timing + positioning to dodge in the right place at the perfect time. All that just to have my moveset not feel like im holding two 10T weights for weapons. even with the boost i still wouldnt say its where it should be. Tldr, loved the graphics, areas, and momsters, really not getting along with my weapon. *STOP RUNNING YOU CHICKEN!!* Edit: and the lock on camera is somehow really awful, it barely follows the monster leaving most of it offscreen alot of the time. Fix the lock on and my baby toothpicks and im all in.

I played on my ps5, its the first time I really felt the graphical difference between performance mode and graphics mode, so I endured the 30 fps for a bit more visuals, which was fine. Really enjoyed the world, creature designs, character creator, gameplay, I was really impressed how it ran for me, connection wise at least. I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of menus and navigating, I am a newbie, it might be unavoidable given how big the game is, so im happy to dedicate the time to learn, it just does take some getting used to.

I feel like monster hunter wilds is an excellent step forward for the franchise, I got lucky with the beta and did not experience any of the bugs or frame issues, but I feel I just luck out on Capcom releases as even dragons dogma I avoided all bugs day 1 of release, I am just glad it was the same playable version that was at the conventions so we can all enjoy it, and since its very early beta the build that was released I imagine most issue will be smoothed out nicely, since monster hunter dev's do want to focus more towards pc due to all the success it has had compared to other platforms. and I definitely welcome that! A new monster hunter game is like a gift that keeps giving, we get a full game, then lots of additional hunts added over time, then if they follow world and rise, a huge expansions similarly sized to the main game, with even more free additional hunts for us to enjoy. my Christmas start on the 28th of February 🤣

Wanted to weigh in on some of the thoughts you had: Yes, this was base PS5. The colors were messed up due to the settings being incorrect. But anyway, yeah. They're already making optimization improvements which is fantastic. I'm so fucking ready to play to this game!!
