La seconda migliore di tutti i tempi, con Domingo, Hendricks, si, anche Ricciarelli in stato di grazia.....von Karajan immenso come non mai. Solo la registrazione del secolo della Decca, con Pavarotti, Sutherland, Caballé, diretta da Zubin Mehta è di un (piccolo) gradino più prestigiosa e magicalmente inarrivabile!

I grew up in the 70s, and my mother had a record of this, with Placido. It sounds like it may even have been this recording. She listened to it a lot. And I took French when I was in high school. And so I learned some of Kleinzach by heart. I still remember some of the words and how to spell them. And so I looked it up and here it is! And yes, you are so right, Placido Domingo is the best.

Oh my God, I just have to keep commenting on this. Hands down the best version I've ever heard. That chorus at the end....Wow! Thank you so much to whoever posted this. Can't wait to play it for my mom. I would have killed to see this performance. Oh well, at least it's up on You Tube....thanks again and again...seeing as I keep coming back to hear it again.
