In this episode I work on getting the door glass out, removing the drivers quarter panel and getting the 1 piece floor in place. The floor includes the braces and inner rockers which makes this go so much faster. I've tried to keep the video short but packed full of information. I'm no stranger to modifying vehicles; I typically build custom motorcycles @origin8or , but on this channel, it's all about the El Camino! After 2 years of small modifications it's time to really get into it, so the body's coming off and a new drivetrain is being built. Follow along to see how it all plays out and why I am so crazy about these cars. Instagram @sick5elco #1965ElCamino #1965Chev...
Just found your channel, excited about following along! Love Elcaminos!
Thanks for checking it out! 2025 should be a fun year, Cheers!
Merry Christmas! The build is coming along nicely! Can't wait to see it done.
Thanks so much, I’ll catch you in the new year. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
So many good new channels! Right on!
Thanks for checking it out! 🤙🏼
Nice job! my first car was a 65 El Camino! or is it a truck..... lol Subscribed to ya!
A debate for the ages! Thanks for the sub. Cheers 🍻
Stumbled across your site, and wow, cant believe how much the car needs, to look at it initially you wouldn't know it, will be binge watching the rest up to date. Well done.
Looks can be deceiving for sure. I know when I got it I thought it was pretty mint 😂
Going to be beautiful.
I think so too! Thanks for checking it out 🤙🏼
Great progress, awesome build. Cheers
Thanks very much, appreciate you checking it out 🤙🏼
Great video, looking forward to the next update! Nice new tool also 😎🤙
Thanks 👍🏼. New vid soon.
Hey Man glad to see you working on the Elco. I,m watching your build to help build my 65. Bought a Car Rotisserie to do a nice job. Getting ready for winter is in the way right now, Keep the videos coming, much appreciated! You voice reminds me of Buckin Billys channel.
Thanks for checking it out. Been working on it non stop but have been too busy to sit and edit videos 😆 I’ll have another vid up this weekend. Cheers 🍻
Holy crap Rob, you're turning me into a car guy, stoppiittt!. Good job on that floorpan BTW.
Hahaha, thanks for checking out the video
Thanks for the video. Doing my 65 elco , just cut the floor pan out. waiting for your next video.
Awesome. New video goes live tonight! Cheers
Looks like it's gonna be a great build. Subscribed to see where it winds up going.
Thanks for the sub! Should be a brand new car once complete LOL.
Good work on the bed sides. I think most people would have patched up what was there instead of going to the effort of replacing it.
For sure. Previously was patched.... poorly. I figure I'll do it the right way - once.
wow your really getting into the body structure. keep up the good work
Thanks very much. Ya, I figure if i'm here now I might as well do it all then I won't have to think about it down the road.
that's alot of work on the bottom of the car. are you going to color match the body and repaint the exterior.
The plan is to do the underside in a satin grey (Steel-it grey) and the engine bay/firewall and exterior will all be the stock Willow Green repainted.
nice build, motor looks good just as is.
Thanks 👍 appreciate it
Very cool. Nice length video, just enough technical info and seeing the progress is enough info for me to know I’m not tackling the job any time soon.
LOL, thanks for checking it out. It's not that difficult - just time and money man ;-)
Looking forward to hearing it run soon! Are you gonna make it sound subtle or let it roar?
It should roar pretty darn good. Currently in bodywork hell so I don't know how soon this will be running LOL
really like you el camino. pro car seats , were there alot of mods to install those. umi suspension, how does it ride. ford 9 inch, do you use chevy bolt pattern wheels, did you use adjustable upper control arms to set pinion angle, do you shorten or lengthen the driveshaft.
Thanks for the sub. I bought the pro-car brackets but wish I didn't as I had to modify them so much to make fit that I could have built my own brackets in the end. They are way too tall for this car and apparently were the correct ones. UMI is a game changer, handling is tight and makes the car feel extremely light. YEs, upper control arms are adjustable. Disc brakes at 4 corners is a big upgrade as well. As for the 9" it uses Chevy bolt pattern and I had it narrowed 2" overall. Car is completely blown apart at the moment as I restore the body but I will be going with a custom driveshaft to suit the new LS motor and TKX trans. Cheers!
@@sick5elco umi has many options, did you use stock spindles and delrin bushings. how about taller ball joint or just stock is ok.
@@cartracer64 I went with the Stage 5 kit. 2" rear drop to match the 2" front drop I did on my disc conversion. Car was original 4 wheel drum.
@@sick5elco stage 5 kit top of the line, what size tires and wheels do you plan on installing. i'll look for the final videos.
It’s a nice truck, nice green, i like it, i’ll be check restmod. Thanks ありがとう!
Thanks for checking it out. I'll keep posting progress videos. Cheers!
It's a car. It's a truck. It's the El Camino!
It's a mullet 😃
