@@kyanartzthey actually explain that the Remnants did everything they did with the understanding they would be put in the Neo World Program by Makoto and Co. Izuru was the one who put the virus into action yes but all of it was premeditated with the plan that most or all of them would kill each roehrband have Junko take over their bodies afterwards. The only thing that wasn’t actually planned was Hajime re-emerging from inside Izuru’s mind but then again Izuru specifically tells Nagito they won’t be meeting again so it seems like while Junko didn’t know Hajime would return Izuru either did or his combined talents helped him hazard a guess that would be a more than likely outcome. Of course the Despair Arc helps further this theory Izuru was becoming aware of the Hajime buried in his mind due to the crying over Chiaki and I think it’s said Izuru went along with the virus plan still because while he wavered he wanted to see how things would play out in the Neo World Program and for hope/despair itself.

To kinda add to what you put, I also think a lot of people underestimate how great the remnants work as a collective to spread despair. Sonia is already to exert political influence due to her becoming Queen of her nation which would help accelerate war and cause mass casualties in addition to the destruction of her whole nation. Twogami is capable of being anyone who means world leaders easily turn on each other not to mention there is a high impossibility of true communications or trust between them to hold a unified front. Sijoni and Ibuki both have the benefit of celebrity/stan culture and as we’ve seen, people are will to go to great lengths for their favorites already. Not to mention that will all eyes on them, it helps create an easier and more rapid way of spreading the brainwashing video (the regular one that made Tsumuki nuts, not the despair one that turned her into a high functioning sociopath) and with both those things a cult-like following of celebrities would do just about anything. Speaking of eyes on them, I think you’re absolutely right about Mahiru. Her biggest asset would be blackmail, “fake news”, despair inducing images, and be one of the biggest tools in propaganda especially for the acts of Sonia, Twogami, Fuyuhiko, and Peko. With the latter two, you have an inverse of Sonia and Twogami who can cause political unrest and global casaulities but instead have the power and the means to terrorize the streets and make it impossible even for survivors to find resources or help. You also have Peko, alongside Neko and Akane, more than likely training others. In the Future Arc we kinda saw that at some point things moved away from terror attacks to flat out combat between the Remnants and the Future Foundation so Akane and Neko definitely seemed like generals in additional to everything else they did and I guarantee Peko pulled off a few assassinations. Soda was absolutely responsible for a lot of the execution machines, he helped build a lot of the monokumas, and he helped fuel the destruction of the environment. He also probably was the sort of “arms” dealing for the soldiers under not just Fuyuhiko but Sonya as well and of course… we saw he mowed down some people in the streets himself. Gundam definitely used his animals to kill people but probably also contributed to the lack of resources, almost a sort of “return” to nature. He had foreign and invasive species at his disposal to invade environments that could serve as strongholds or shelters for the remaining populations so with his animals trained to kill he could also train them to ruin the few man made fortitudes. Mikan spread diseases and poisoned patients but probably also performed medical experiments on more than a few people and their families Teruteru definitely cooked people and made cannibalism part of his caused but he probably also helped contribute to scarcity when it came to food and production, he also probably contributed to the starvation of others while also using food to lure in those delirious in hunger ala the Pale Man in Pan’s Labyrinth. Nagito definitely spent the majority of his time with the warrior’s of hope. Truthfully I don’t think he did as much as the others did when it came to the spread of despair, he was just meant to ensure the next generation of the despair would grow up uninterrupted.

@@mkwhite5054 definitely, nagito and izuru are least impactful remnants, mahiru is the one people underestimate the most, because she took picture but fake source, Invalid news can causes chaos on politics and society.

@@mkwhite5054 basically izuru goes along junko's plan for making ai Junko take over their body, like they all seems to agree to put junko into them as they want to merged themself with junko as one, izuru just goes along and seems interested on it Is nagito the only one izuru has told he won't be participated into the neo world program but instead Hajime? I mean he is simply aware of the absence his past self (Especially after Chiaki keep convincing izuru that he is Hajime and then izuru break down hajime's tears)

Given the amount of horror and bloodshed the Remnants of Despair are capable of, combined with lots of secrets that leaders have, this makes Mahiru a lot more frightening to say the least.
