Overall both teams were equally matched and showed a certain level of intelligence but froze often which to me was an indication of not doing their homework.

This is a pretty cheap game compared to many others. Think about it, you had the $25,000 pyramid back in the 1980s they constantly gave away $10,000 or more. And you have this game which is much newer, which means based on inflation the money is even worth less, only possibly doubling or tripling a couple thousand dollars. But I’m guessing that’s because the viewership wasn’t very big so their budget wasn’t very big. I guess. But they have a pretty big studio audience, why would so many people go to the game that they didn’t really care about. Maybe they just grab people off the streets or all the contestants were the ones in the stands as viewers.

I’m wondering if these college educated kids don’t understand mathematics. When you only have one answer left and the other team is ahead of you more than $1000, betting 500 isn’t gonna get you there. So then you gotta look at the likelihood that you’re really gonna guess it on the first letter, because even if you do you’re not gonna win. And if you get it wrong then you’re never gonna catch up. So bedding $100 and then hoping that the other team has a bozo little bit too much is a better strategy. At least at that point in the game. But maybe they can’t see the other teams dollar amount so they just going from memory or something.

@3:21 ~ when the guys team are making these grunts to signal that they now know what the word is, I’m wondering how much that is from a place of ego where they want everybody else to know that they know what the answer is right now. It could just be a reaction of frustration that they didn’t get it when they guessed, but I’m wondering if it’s a reaction more to signal that they know the answer before the next letter even shows up. Of course it’s often going to be impossible for someone to even know why they do it themselves

I think I like this version better than the version where they just do more chains.
