In this session I fished a section of the River Stour, which originates in St. Kenelm's churchyard, Clent, and runs for around 25 miles before emptying into the Severn. It has in the past been infamous for pollution problems; noticeably with colour changes to every colour under the rainbow. It's good to see that this small river is making progress towards a healthy ecosytem of aquatic life.

Who knew small rivers like the Dane could harbour such beasts! Caught on 5 red maggots to a size 16 barbless, 4lb hook link, 6lb mono mainline. Put up an awesome fight, as always, catch and release.

Originally stocked by monks from the monasteries in the West Berkshire area, these ponds have long since been left untouched. I threw a floating bread line out to see what’s still in here!

Little jack pike have a go at a curly tail shad lure. Didn't strike this one as too busy filming! Remember to be cautious when handling these apex predators and ALWAYS return to the water!
