Colosseum is a great pickup glad it gets recognition. Also the great irony with Great Lighthouse and Colossus is the empires that would benefit from them most would rather not lose the big resources they get from a bare coast tile. So those wonders are even worse when you consider that. Plus one movement point on ships is not worth losing what can be a huge resource tile with the right civs, free city, wonder bonuses

12:40 I think a more interesting graph with regards to worker build charges would have been one that basically visualizes your following example calculation with the 30 build charges and how much production that costs you. so something like 4 curves, one where you start using serfdom after 3 builders, one after 5, one after 10, and one where you never pick serfdom, and see how the _total_ production cost looks as a function of how many build charges you want to get to (or the other way around, the graph would work either way, really). that way you actually see the compounding of the cost per build charge as an ever-steeper (or flatter) curve, which I think people intuitively understand more easily than showing them what is basically a "speed"/increments graph.

@@droid-droidsson there are prolly cooler graphs out there, but i took this from some dude on the internet who deleted the original post lol

To be honest, I don't think that saying that you can just conquer a certain wonder from the AI is a valid point, as you can say that to almost every wonder

@@lucasanjos8677 It was kinda a tongue in cheek comment haha. But also some wonders you would rather build yourself and get it in a specific city for example. Hanging Gardens is a global effect thru ur empire.

Very intersting points on hanging gardens, i always tend to pioritize them when playing something like khmer but i might reconsider next time.

Hanging Gardens is fun! I want to like them more, and maybe I'm a bit harsh on them. If you are playing Khmer though, maybe try going Astrology first tech and go for a religion that synergizes with them and get a Holy Site early (maybe you already do this)

@@Fenneconomist i try sinergyzing with feed the world or gurdwaras if they're available but i feel like it's hard to get both hanging gardens and feed the world unless you give up on expansion completely

@@Abcdefggfedcbabcdefg I wouldnt give up on expansion. Build granaries instead of Hanging Gardens and go settle. See how it works for you

Ok I finally got around to finishing the video - the knight takes g4 line was absolutely wild. Never in a million years would I think abt that play

Nxg4 at 48:00 is something I could probably spend more time looking at, as I still don't 100% understand it. But even weak engines can read 4 zillion more moves into the future than I can. But maybe there's something more to it and as I get better at pattern recognition the tactics will be more readily noticeable. Thanks for watching through the video! I'm going to try to keep them a little shorter from here on out. (Maybe I will start doing clip compilations lol.)

This game was my childhood I was seven years old when this came out. My friends and I would take turns speeding through the game to find any secrets, played blitz mode as much as possible. We probably dumped 200 plus hours. I just picked up my 3ds copy during my lunch break, last save file was 2011 when it came out. But only for a few minutes. I couldn't believe that I can still play that came as good as we got at the end 99 lol. I love this game's branching path ways it has to be earned, and the end isn't always the "end" Great memories!
