George Washington died in December 1799, and after his last will and testament cleared the Virginia probate court, copies were obtained by publishers who rushed to get it into print. Our restored and carefully re-bound copy was published barely one month later, in February, 1800.

I remember Doug's father, Henry, when the bookstore was on Bijou across from Acacia Park. My father was a trade jeweler and rented the space next door. He and Henry became great friends. As a teenager, I thought Mr. Clausen was kind of magical. He had done so much in his life, and had so many stories to tell.
Great video & a great store! Loved my visit there when I was in Colorado.
