1966 Plymouth Barracuda pavement Street Stock. Been in the works for 1 1/2 years and today was the very first laps turned with it. Dodge Dakota 2wd front frame clip and suspension. This video is session #3 and I'm ringing it out to see how much more it's got. As I fine tune the suspension, and get used to the car, It's got a LOT more in it !

Angle grinder shop tip
Переглядів 2,7 тис.Рік тому
Spend a few minutes on Preventative Maintenance. Metal fabrication, carpentry, wood carving, and more activities use 4 1/2" angle grinders. Help them live longer productive lives by making sure the ring and pinion gears have grease . Do this on your existing older tools and as a very first step with brand new ones.

Looking good. I've been watching on Facebook too

Sweet! Hurry up and finish it, so I can drive it! 🙂
40K and you can drive it all you want .........
@@61Merc Will you take a personal check from Trampoline Trust?
I have been using arbor shims to do this for a long time and often wondered why nobody else was. If I have done the math correct, on 6 slot castle 1-14 castle nut, each slot is 12 thou. I have bought 12 slot nuts which drops it to 6 thou per slot. I shoot for 1-5 though indicated end-play based on Timken literature. I have found that zero end-play on fully loaded axles tends to be two tight and leads to early bearing failure. Loose seems to be more forgiving in terms of time to failure compared to too tight. What end-play do you shoot for?
Somewhere between too tight and too lose..... Kudos to you for this in depth research ! BRAVO !! .... You are probably the only guy on the planet to take a dial indicator out to service his wheel bearings. :-) Everyone has a 'what feels right' method, and these shims just makes it easier to get to that spot.
@@61Merc After several bearing failures on vehicles and trailers I started looking for the an answer to why. My conclusion was I was setting them too tight. I started experimenting and found I could get away with a very loose bearing. I have never had a loose bearing fail between annual repack. I do see race wear, but not race spalling type failures. The biggest problem with lose is on my boat trailer with bearing buddies, the seals don't seal well with the bearing being lose. In a quest to find a technical answer, something I could quantify, I found a Timken tech article with an end-play spec of 1-5 thou as well as an identical UA-cam video. I have followed 1-5 thou since then. I didn't have someone to teach me the right "feel" so I had to find another way.
Is that track out your back door?
THAT is a YUGE AFFIRMATIVE !!
1/3 - 3/8 mile high bank with 2 different bankings. 50' wide straights, 70' wide turns.
So are they running regular weekly races out there yet? I've been looking forward to this place for many years... What's the word?
@@ElGato-uo8vf Negative, Have had 2 - 2day drifting events, circle track cars, and racing Karts testing. Not enough infrastructure yet for regular weekend racing. I think there is a big purse Super Late Model race for sometime this fall. I heard they are going to focus on 2-3 classes per event with 75 to 250 lap big purse races as the mainstay and not do regular racin' every weekend.
Do you know what the website is for tickets?? When it opens
Nice video, hope you have fun this season. We will get you some more swag for the fans soon.
Should’ve left it dirt. That was the only thing stopping me from moving to Idaho. Looks like I’ll still have to wait till they put a dirt track up in Idaho.
there are 3 established dirt tracks in Idaho
lookin good !
Cool deal, best of luck.
Thanks ! 2020 is gonna be fun and a lot of work !!

My grandfather knows the guy who owns the yellow 76 race car I saw it in the garage
Addendum; It was brought to my attention by the white Corvette's owner/ driver that in fact we did NOT outrun him. He was gracious enough to make available in-car video from his perspective and I appreciate that. From MY perspective, he was out run but as he was driving a very high horsepower off the shelf hot rod, he most definitely would have left ME in the dust ! Down in the staging lanes there was only one line forming up with 2 cars already ahead of me so I took a spot. The gentleman in the white Corvette and his running buddy would have been most welcome to cut in front of me if they had made their desires known. I apologize to the white Corvette for any embarrassment or anxiety I may have caused from my statement in this video.
The bottom half is 8 and 7 % UPgrade. The long straight is 7% UPgrade.
Seen this on Fab Forums and had to check it out.Great idea
Poor Mr.BlueCar
NICE JOB Mr.D Looks like the Animal is learning how to hook up
That better be a fiberglass body.
Great video!
Sorry, no Farmington in Idaho ! Gonna rain hard all weekend so won't be showing Saturday.
Yeah ! I had to get Joel in there a couple of times in a row. I;m running a pair of his old heads in 'the YELLA BRICK'
That's me from 11:17 to 11:46... 1967 Dodge Charger, 496", 647HP/684 lb.ft., 10.8 mpg @ 140 mph
Good job MC !
Ha, nine of my videos, first and last no less =P
I recognize that first video!
Damn, that charged mustang sounded good!
I'm SO proud of you Dwaine. I don't care if you come in dead last. I know you love this hobby and Susan shares it with you. That is what it's all about! Much love to both of you! Shell
The original front bumper created severe front end LIFT at high speed(100 plus). This air dam/splitter creates considerable down force and smooths out the airflow around the front of the car at 200 plus.
Aww, c'mon, give that poor thing the front bumper it's obviously missing.
It's ugly but it works PERFECTLY :-)))
needs a diferent nose
how ostentatious
wow nice!!
LOL! I was there this weekend.
Then you oughta show up at the Blazer Park THIS friday evening and sign up to run the hill this coming weekend ! June 27-28,2009 is the Old Freezeout Hillclimb.
I love going up this road! It's awesome!
Most definitely securely mounted. The GoPro Camera is very small and light weight and comes with a bunch of different mounting options.
The Old Freezeout Hill Climb is the longest running hill climb in the USA. It's been running for 44 CONSECUTIVE years with zero interruptions. As you know the Mill is no longer.:-(((
The only events held on this hill are for cars.
Good buildup video..... was there a bit of rust in the firewall???
dude i hate driving that dam rode how fats were you going .
WOW !! I just love it !!! Where can we see it race ?
