That’s a clever design. I had to look at it a few times to realise how the choke strip is activated because the bell is floating essentially, but there’s small neoprene discs stuck on the membrane which compresses when hit activating the membrane and thus giving the bell. It also looks really nifty too.

Really awesome video, and I am honestly admiring your overall line of product solutions. I'm personally technically competent enough to DIY my own basic single zone tom triggers with just standard piezo disks and a trip to the local hardware store, but I have to admit... Your dual zone products like the one featured here is probably the way I'm ultimately thinking to go for just the snare on my personal conversion build. That and possibly your internal kick drum options. Two most important drums in the kit right?! Might as well go ahead and invest into that foundation with a trusted brand with reputable stability eh? ha! My conversion project kit: Early 1990's Mapex 4pc 12" & 16"deep shell toms 22" kick 14" snare Red wrapped maple shells w/ black powder coated rims and hardware Hopefully? It's going to be freaking kick ass! Ha! To be continued...

How does this work with the switch on the bottom?

I think you need something to dampen the movement of the whole trigger. A very soft foam on a board behind the trigger. That oscillation will interfere with fast double bass.

a little better. goes from 3 levels to like 5 levels.

dont know how you managed to make it work cause my alesis surge is not responding to it. anyways i understand that most of that low-mid range systems like mine only have the ability for open\close and splash sounds and nothing in the middle so to use its full abilitys ill just need a new really good drum module.

Definitely the best sounding Roland drums I've heard. Usually they sound fake.
