    I have just bought a pair of the 305p. I get the lightness thing and also the momentary dread when lifting them new out of the box…😂. I guess the weight is down to the class d amps which is why they became so popular in the PA speakers. To my ears these have quite a neutral sound and do show the producers efforts quite clearly in playback which is great. I don’t have an issue with the gloss finish and actually like the contrast. I love the bass out of these things. I use them for midfield playback only and bought them for the sheer space saving convenience over HiFi. They do a great job. I have the JBL 104bt on my desk and they also fit so very well and perform wonderfully. The thing I like about the 104 apart from the coaxial speaker design is the soundstage is kept at the desk and in front of me rather than having huge width which so many look for in the HiFi realm. So yes, excellent value for money, agreed!

    Both excellent pedals. SC is very smooth and a bit lighter feeling whereas the IC is also smooth but has a bit more punch and not as fast. Depending on the style of music fast is not always better per se… the IC has a more versatile and natural feel. I also have the 50th anniversary Carbon DW 5000 which is also fantastic and great for more chill music. Double pedals for all 3 and it’s not that I play much “metal” but it’s nice to throw in some double kick at times. Next purchase will be checkin out the DW 9000... Also, you can get toe stoppers… I have them on my IC and I couldn’t imagine not.. they’ve been on for 20 years and I’ve never thought once about removing them.

    How LOUD are just one of them? It covers a drum player on the room? I want it to play my guitar with in small rooms with my friends and band, i use the 305p version and they are loud in my bedroom

    • @beatsplusbeer4042

      I have used them whilst playing drums at high volumes (obviously use hearing protection if you are going to do that) and they get plenty loud. Not sure if you also intend to mix on them as well, but if not, I’d say you’d be better off buying a pair of amplifiers for that use case. It will cost you less, they’ll get louder than these, and the music will sound better. Studio monitors are meant to sound boring and flat for mixing purposes so they’re not the best for live performances. Just my two cents.

      @@beatsplusbeer4042 thanks! I use digital pedal, modeler, zoom g11 model, they have to be used with FRFR cabinets, full range and flat response, neutral... so basically the same thing of an audio monitor xD I can replace the same sound of marshall amos or mesa boogie amps playing my guitar, because they are neutral so the modeler can recreate the timbre of various amps in just one speaker Well my doubt is... they are LOUD? if i have an drummer in my room playing, my guitar sound will be loud too? 100w are loud i think...

    I'm about 2 months in. Like you I replaced my heads and bought a different pedal (Tama speed cobra 910 coming tomorrow). I'm trying to learn heel toe right now. I don't know if I'm doing it correctly tho. I feel like I'm doing well at playing for only being at it 2 months. You are doing much better. Granted I haven't practiced everyday tho. I spend more time on UA-cam watching videos on how to play the drums rather than actually playing the drums haha.

    "I'm an alcoholic" lmao. Great way to start a video my man. I haven't had a sip of booze in 56 days now :) Several months ago I bought an acoustic kit and then a couple weeks later I also bought a ekit. I severely underestimated how loud an acoustic kit is. I have a Tama kick pedal. Hp30 I think. It's the cheapest one they make probably. At some point I'm sure I'll upgrade but for now I'm just moving it back and forth between the 2 kits.

Would you be so kind as to post your MPC Template as a download so I coud try and see if that would work for me. I have an MPC ONE that I just purchased and I have Studio One 6 pro. My setup seems to be identical to your set up in every way so I'm not sure why it's not working for me. Bro is the speed cobra 910 heel toe friendly?

    • @beatsplusbeer4042
      @beatsplusbeer4042 Рік тому

      Yes. I specifically found it easier to do doubles and triples via the heel toe method on the speed cobra. That said, I felt singles were *marginally* more difficult to control on the Speed Cobra vs the Iron Cobra. Just feels like you have more board to move, which was weird for me coming from the shorter Iron Cobra HP900 pedal.

      Just $200 on the pedal, as I only plan to keep one. Also, I feel comfortable buying drums used, but not pedals as they wear out. Imo most of your money should be spent on cymbals, which I have yet to upgrade. My plan is to have about 20% of the kit’s value in hardware, 40% in cymbals, 20% in the snare and 20% everything else.
