Pre-Op and Day 1 Post-Op: My DIEP Flap Surgery
A diagnosis of breast cancer can be both physically and emotionally draining. I know because I was diagnosed on 01Apr2020.
In this video series - I share a bit of my journey as I recover from a DEIP Flap reconstruction.
DIEP Flap breast reconstruction use only the patient's skin and fat. For me, they used skin and fat from my abdomen. Personally, I never thought about having implants and it wasn't until I was diagnosed with breast cancer that I learned about this alternative procedure. I wanted to feel as close to normal as possible. This may not be the right option for everyone but it was the right one for me. This is part of my story.
