    I've a 1997 kawasaki Gpz500S and 1996 kawasaki Gpz1100E. No fuel pump, catalyst, ECU, fly by wire, sensors thin seats, or hard suspension. Just easily fixable. Robust. Built to last. Ive had many modern bikes. Ridden 1000's of miles in all weathers since 1985. 80's and 90's are the best bikes. Just don't buy a dog or anything Italian. 😂😂

    Hi there, what kind of oil you use in the zxr 400? Just bought one of these bikes 4 days ago, and want to do an oil change. Service manual says i need SG or newer API certificated oil, 10w40 or 10w50 , but ofc there are no SG manufactured yet. The “or newer” part would cover my question, in case I wouldt read a forum topic about full synthetic modern oils can make the clutch slippy and i tought would rather ask from someone who already have tested experiences with exact brands/ types of oil. Any suggestion mate?

    I mothballed my CBR1000RR and got a '99 Kawasaki ZX-7R without traction control and ABS. What a colossal increase in driving pleasure. A motorcycle and not a rolling data center with 200 hp. I don't give a damn about these cock comparisons about who has more power and electronics on board. I don't see why I should pay more and more money for a motorcycle that is more and more powerful and therefore needs even more electronics to catch the ponies again. Let's be realistic: without electronic assistance systems, the motorcyclist of the 21st century will immediately lie on his ass. But without me! I'm riding a real men's motorcycle again

    Did you change the front sproket to give it more room end speed or more accseliration?

    • @Rideitoutyoutube
      @Rideitoutyoutube Рік тому

      Depends if you go up or down a tooth. 1 tooth at the front is 3 at the back..... But the opposite way. 1 down at the front is the equivalent to 3 up at the rear... That's more acceleration less top speed. One up at the front is like 3 down on the rear meaning less acceleration but better top speed. Careful you don't chase the top speed too much as the engine won't have the power for that final drive top speed making the bike slower. Careful with acceleration if you go that way as you could shoot to 40mph but top out at 45 but be slower in acceleration due to gear shifts. It's all about finding balance

    Now at 40 I can finally both afford to buy and insure the bikes I lusted after in Bike Magazine in the 90s. Any recommendation for a good sporty 90s bike that a pillion can actually ride as well? I had a Thundercat for ten years, a ZZR 250 before that and (my favourite) TZR125 before that, (and a Fizzy for a year) but I’ve only ridden a Vespa 125 moped for the last few years in central London.

      Ah central London! I work in Dagenham just outside E6 🤘 .... 90's bikes for pillions I'd possibly recommend anything with a more plush seat that's like a bench than a sportier style. The zxr400 I owned would leave a pillion super high up, folded like a deck chair and leant all over my back loading my wrists of my weight and that of my passenger. Zzr600 is good shout though! Just the ulez issue with a 90's bike 😓 they did make a Suzuki bandit 400.... Rare but that would be an absolute gem if you like the smaller displacement motorcycle 👌 they did make a Kawasaki zzr400 aswell dude 😉 also quite rare but they are about!

    To be honest Mid 80s and 90s sportbikes are the peak of sportsbike designs. Mid 80s and 90s sportsbike designs are better than the current motobike designs in my opinion. They aesthethically unique and beautiful awesome. With a boxy fairings, round/square headlamp just perfect...

      @mamoruchiba3301 3 місяці тому

      @@harryflashman4542 the unique point of the mid 80s to mid 90s sportbikes (especially sports fairings) designs is: you can feel the "fun to ride" aura just looking at it. Nowadays you need to ride it to know is it fun to ride or not because the current designs are kind of bland.

      @@mamoruchiba3301 I think it's because 80s to 90s sport bikes design was straight from racing. They were road legal race bikes. Whereas once the sport bike became popular every street bike received maxed out aggressive styling. They are so over-hyped aesthetically that they all look like two wheeled insects. Just overkill. Too many vents, louvers, angles, slants and anatomic details. I like the basic rounded simple fairings on early sport bikes best. They're there for a purpose rather than a design statement.

      Thing is there are reputable Chinese bikes out there!... I bought a kurz fs250 and that was everything that is the stigma of Chinese but lexmoto, keeway, sinnis seem to be brilliant value for money. As long as you are smart enough to solve minor issues and disciplined enough to do maintenance...... These bikes are worth their weight in gold 🤘

    I had Suzuki SV 1000 S.. it was a but to much for me , tried a couple of 600 and settled with this little beast.. and i love it all the way.. Apart from some parts are a bit harder to find bcs its an older bike ( mine is 1998 ) it works perfect for me to ride it around the town and enjoy it up to 10.000 rpm.

      @@davidmarkovic6369 totally makes sense. My issue is I love going fast, I'm keeping up with the big litre bikes on a 300cc in the Twisties but that's full throttle. The zxr obviously you need to hold back it is by all definition...fast... The extra power of a 600 or a 1000cc would put me in a box. You can't ride those bikes like you would a small displacement bike. The biggest thing to me however is actually that I love to use all of the bike.... Can't do that on a 1000cc unless you're at a track. I love going through the rev range and the gear box and using momentum. It's much more fun riding a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow 🤘

    Is it a good beginner bike for city commuting? Can u achieve fun factor while abiding by city speed limits or do u have to go fast fast to make engine sing?

    • @Rideitoutyoutube
      @Rideitoutyoutube Рік тому

      I will be brutally honest....... its an awful daily.... 30mph the engine is happy and fine but the fun factor is all up top, youll want the bike singing if you want fun. as for comfort its a solid 2/10 however at fast speeds its not so bad but you need to be going fast so you can stretch out and have the wind support you a little bit. its a brilliant bike if you want an ice breaker at bike meets or a weekend blast about but for daily riding commute its a bit of a torture rack. But its a pure joy to ride when out with the friends on the twisty roads.

      @@jasicjan the zxr 250 is pretty much the same thing dude, 90's race ergonomics that are seriously race focused making all that power up top rather than down low. if youre looking at full faired race style bikes with more comfort and sound nice the ninja 400 is a parallel twin and slightly less power but more comfortable seating positions. as a first bike a zxr 400 ridden hard is a missile dude....... its a race bike with lights and its genuinely no compromise. a lot of companies will say "its a race bike with lights" but really youd have to tweak things for that to be true,...... the zxr is no compromise full on racer with lights as an afterthought. race bikes suck as commuters but things like the ninja 400 is "sporty" but toned down on the race aspect if that makes sense? the new zx4rr looks promisinig but makes 20 bhp more but again its that inline 4 power all up top that honestly is not ideal for real roads. the most rated bikes on the roads are all triples, twins or v4s ..... my zxr is fun at 10k-14.5k rpm..... of which 3rd gear wide open is already over national speed limits
