I think the reality is, Ironwood sees things from an 'Atlas is the Greatest' perspective... not dissimilar to how the US in RL sees itself as the Master of the Universe. IMO Ironwood's biggest failure is in ACTUALLY meeting with Robin on a neutral or equal ground, judging her motives, and then seeking to get her on his side with truth which will help bring Mantle to understand the circumstances. Instead Ironwood acts like a tyrant where it's his way or the highway, and people like Robin aren't ones to be converted by logic and reason, but instead by coercion and force. If you notice every time the kids try to get him to talk to Robin he shrugs it off and instead expects her (and Mantle) to fall in line based solely on the 'word' of Ironwood and Atlas. Trust is something hard earned, but very easily lost. And since you have previously seen how this all plays out through Volume 8, had he spoken with and worked to get Robin on his side months ago many things might have turned out different.

Monty has always been inclusive. In fact a lot of CRWBY had LGBTQ animators and RT staff that provided voices. They exist in the show because they exist in real life. The knee jerk reactions I'm getting from this reaction is alarming. And as a queer person myself, I think this will be the last reaction of yours I visit. Cheers

Sooooo what was Volume 2 about when he took it upon himself to bring his fleet to Vale, go behind Ozpin's back to get the Vale Council to give him power over the security of Vale and the Vytal Festival? He wasn't asked, and instead talked his way into getting that authority. For a benevolent purpose perhaps, but undermining Ozpin all the same. Just an observation.

I know you have stood by Ironwood hard the past few episodes, but he went behind Oz's back in Volume 2 despite Glynda telling him a few times trust works both ways. However for sure he acts as the man (Tin Man) that Oz trusted in him to be this Volume... for now. And honestly it makes for a great setup should things change.

Did you notice the editing error CRWBY made at 0:36 of your video? Clover's screen shows RWBY and JNR in the new appearances, but when it pans over to Ruby and Jaune, they haven't changed yet. It is blurry but it's still easy to tell. I don't agree with your opinion of Ruby's outfit, mostly because they are in the tundra and the need to cover up makes it much more practical than showing skin for fanservice. The rest of the outfits I agree with you.

I was also shocked and saddened by this episode. General James Ironwood is one of the best and kindest characters in RWBY. He was happy when the team RWBY arrived in Atlas, was polite and calm to them, told them his plan, gave the relic back, was happy when he heard about Ozpin, hugged Qrow and promised that he could be trusted. But these "main characters" lied to him about everything important, did not show trust, and began to criticize and express toxicity. Then I realized that I now hate them.

I thought he deserved that kind of ending. He was always an asshole. He basically died the same way that Gaston from Beauty and the Beast did. And most of the cuts in these scenes pay homage to the Beast/Gaston fight. And like I had mentioned previously, Adam is an amalgamation of both Prince Adam (AKA The Beast) and Gaston. However, now that you've seen this, I can finally paste that RWBY: Amity Arena Adam Taurus profile description from the game. Which is basically his canon backstory and an inversion of Disney's BnB's Prince Adam and not Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve original version. Thing is, you're comparing Remnant's standards of living compared to Earth's. Remnant, a place where "MAGIC", AURAs and their version of science exists. Not earth science either. And no Faunis exists on Earth either and yet, Remnant has got'em. Keep in mind, that now that you've seen the lore and humanity has it's second go around, humans were first conceived out of "dust." And currently on remnant, Dust powers a lot of objects as well as people. Remnant Scientists even use dust for their experiments and to power their technology. I think anything goes with a world like Remnant. It's funny because a conversation about this regarding Sailor Moon sounded similar especially finding out that Usagi does NOT have a father but she was a clone of her mother, the original Queen Serenity, born from the Galaxy Cauldron and nothing else. As a P13 show, there's a level of suspension of disbelief that goes into this the same way it goes into Superhero movies especially where Diana comes from a world of only women. Then there was an Anime named Simoun that came out back in 2008, where a person is always born a female but by their 18th birthday they have to decide what gender they want to be. Again involves magic and doesn't take place on earth.

The way your frustrations sound, it's almost like you think these three volumes are equivalent to 3 years in in-universe 😅😂. For Weiss, you JUST have to keep watching. Because the answers will be answered as to why she even came up with that answer and other fishy behavior from everyone else. You have to remember that RWBY is considered long form storytelling. Monty mentioned he likes to plant seeds early one so it would slowly come into fruition as time in the show progresses. Every scene you see in the show builds up to something else later on (some sooner than later). Also PTSD isn't something that goes away for people and isn't neatly taken care off by the end of a Volume (especially these short volumes where "Time isn't that Linear as we have seen in V5). Both are traumatized by Adam. Things lead to something in RWBY for especially for their individual arcs, which by the way, are still ongoing even when they're already reunited so a show like this requires patience for answers as Monty never liked instant gratification. Remember....3 volumes is ONE whole arc and also considered one whole season. (V1-V3 is the Beacon Arc, V4-V6 is the Mistral Arc and just in case you haven't seen beyond that, then I'll leave it at that.) Didn't you say that you've seen the series? Kind of surprised, by your reaction 😅. Perhaps I heard you incorrectly in past volumes.

I understand why you were hacking on Weiss for her wariness to go to Atlas or take on Salem BUT... There is MORE to it than that... which you will find out in the next episode.

It's more of a theory than anything, but notice the line "they will become a fraction of what they once were". If og humans had magic, then you could argue that these new humans have a fraction of magic, a "semblance" of magic if you will.

This is actually a strong fan theory. Prior to Salem's causing all of humanity to be destroyed, magic existed within humans. Or at the very least, only humans could access it. And at the same time there was NO reference to dust, or use of dust. BUT, after the God of Darkness destroyed all the humans (turning my gift to them against me), humans eventually re-evolved from the remnant, and dust suddenly appeared. The theory is that Dust is actually the distillation of original magic that was left behind after the God of Darkness destroyed them all. And the only magic remaining is within Salem, Ozpin, and those 4 Maidens he gave some to. This alone sort of negates the belief that humans 'accessed' magic, and instead validates that it was inherent in humans in the past. Especially since Ozpin can carry it with him into whichever body he reincarnates to next.

Oz not telling them this story creates their character arcs for he rest of the Volume and during the Atlas arc. Id Oz told them, none of it would have happened,

The RWBY novel "After the Fall" is a canon side story that takes places at the same time as V6. The book and its sequel, "Before the Dawn", tell the tale of Teams CFVY and SSSN.

Ruby's gifts were supposed to have some significance. However, they were dropped for budget and time. What they are a bit of a spoiler for now though.
