Twin Samick Guitar/Bass Restoration - PART 2 OF 2
Got a matching set of a Samick guitar and bass and decided to give them a new paint job and upgrades.
Be sure to let me know in the comments what I forgot to film, because there's a lot!

Great Guitar Build-Off 2022: The Scratch Build - FULL BUILD #ggbo #ggbo22 #ggbo2022 #scratchbuild
Переглядів 13 тис.2 роки тому
My entry into the scratch build category of the great guitar build off 2022. Also happens to be my very first guitar from scratch. Threw myself into deep end with this, giving myself a hell of a challenge and nearly didn't get it done. A lot of the tasks seen here are the first time i've performed them and I impulsively decided not to do test cuts or practice certain techniques which has result...

Decided to try filming the process of a full clean and fret work on a guitar. No talking and a whole lot of distracting background noise! Instagram: lucentguitars Facebook: LucentGuitars
Looks great. Nice work. Don't skimp on the nut. Get a Graph Tech Black Tusq for $15. It makes a world of difference.
You missed the saddles and intonation. Moving forward, do a commentary or have some music, and definitely time lapse the boring parts (machine heads, strings, tuning, etc.).
Man i love offset guitars. This looks awesome. Looks like a mix of a Fender Jazzmaster/Meteora with a little Ibanez TMB series thrown in. You wouldnt sell a rough finished body like this would you? Id love to build a parts caster of this with a regular fender style neck with a single humbucker and a fixed bridge.. Great work!!
Good work. One day you will build your masterpiece, and it will be amazing. I know this because I can see that you care about the tiny details. That is the mark of a master.
Amazon build but I'm left with one question......does it djent?
with my limited ability it sure seems capable! Would love to get a demo with an actual player soon
Great build and video. I love the fretboard markers.
What's color name?
This one was mixed custom and doesn't have a name but closest I can find is Sky Bus or Sly Blue
Awesome build! As another non-guitar player who would love to build one someday this really is encouraging to see but also intimidating since I doubt I can do such a good job.
Not sure about the headstock and some of your methods had me sucking my teeth, (marking out the neck pocket ) however, the end qualified the means. Well done. ( and that piece of timber you used as a press for the fretboard, WTF?! )
Haha yes there is a lot I can improve on especially with the methods I use. I do love that piece of timber, the figuring on it is amazing, but haven't found a use for it other than a clamping caul. Thanks for watching!
Really great design and proportions, I love this one, well done!👍
This looks really slick, I love the colour.
Hi! Do you have a guitar that you don use please ? I wanna learn but I cannot afford one so I’m just watching videos
Love the look and sound. Very cool
That turned out great! I've used both Silver Quandong and Queensland Maple before and they are both enjoyable timbers to work with. In my experience anyway!
Thank you! They were all very forgiving timbers to work with and will definitely use them again
@@lucentguitars I particularly like the queensland maple. You can get some crazy figuring in it as well.
@@adairguitars I loved the slight figuring in this one and it was considered one of the undesirable pieces!
Very nice guitar Lucent. I like your fret markers. What was the mixture you used? I used the same woods for one of my builds, silver quandong and and Qld maple. Do you find it weighty? Great work you did. I really enjoyed watching what you did.
Thank you! You didn't get the timber from a place called Jellyshake did you? That'd be a funny coincidence! and yes it is rather heavy! For the fret markers I used generic craft epoxy resin with a little bit of blue mica powder.
@@lucentguitars Yes I did. I got the quandong and some walnut and maple veneer from Jellyshake. I also go to Guitartimbers for my fretboards.
Super slick design!
Very nice effort for a first build, going for a 7-string fan-fretted guitar. The finish is great. I like the color combo too.
Lovely shape, great color combination! Nice job!
Love the color. Very well done. There are a couple of us where this is our first build. So, congrats fellow noob, you did it! Take a fuggin' victory lap!
So clean!
