Welcome to Christ Community Church in Collinsville CT! Our vision is to Exalt the Lord Jesus Christ, Proclaim the Gospel, and Make Disciples.
"Love and Grace"
Continuing in his series, "The Parables of Jesus", Pastor Chris today preaches from Luke 10:25-37, The Parable of the Good Samaritan.
The Parable of the Good Samaritan
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b]”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

As Pastor Chris continues his series on Parables, today we hear from Matthew 18:21-35, and Luke 18:9-14. MATTHEW: The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant 21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[a] 23 “Therefore, the kingdom of...

Pastor Chris is preaching to us from Luke 15: The Parable of the Lost Sheep 15 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” 3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine i...
Drive home safe 🙏, see you Sunday, Buddy
Thank you for the part about the Trinity. Our youngest daughter is a Oneness Pentecostal and this will help to convince her otherwise.
Thank you, Pastor for this exposition of Nehemiah’s prayer. Your message helps me cope with my current prayer needs.
Thanks for taking the time to prepare this for us.
A great devotional delivered with great passion. Blessed are you Pastor for all you do for your flock. There are but 168 hours in a 7 day week. How do you find time to prepare a mid-week devotional, a Sunday sermon, a doctorate thesis and course work, plus counsel with church staff and parishioners? I’m exhausted just thinking about it. Oh, and by the way, a cluttered desk is a sign of genius because geniuses have something better to do than futzing around with filing systems.
Good morning
Thank you, Pastor for this Word from God. I have a testimony that demonstrates how God cares for His most valuable creation - people: On August 8, 2019 I received an unexpected phone call from the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). They weren't asking for a donation, however, they simply wanted to know if there was anything I'd like them to pray about. Since finances was a major concern at that time I asked for prayer over our finances. Now this call from CBN came right out of the blue and it reminded me of Psalm 8:4 - What is man that You are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? Clearly, God knew my need before I ever asked for His help.
A great reminder. Thank-you.
This devotional is a keeper. It's also very timely. Just this morning I was thinking to myself that my prayers have more to do with long list of petitions and nary anything about worship of our LORD. As I wondered how to change that I watched and listened to this message. Pastor Chris provided much insight grounded in God's inerrant Word. There are so many books available today about prayer but the vast majority are based on faulty application of God's Word. I encourage Pastor Chris to expand this devotional into a book.
Through a variety of Scripture references Elder Bob DuBois successfully answered the question: Why are we here? The answer of course is simply to make disciples of Jesus Christ. I commend Elder DuBois for his diligent study and comprehensive presentation. Through Bob's effort God has been exalted and Jesus Christ is glorified.
Elder Salch gave a valiant effort but he did not adequately answer the question expressed in 1Corinthians 15:35: "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?" The subject text, 1Corinthians 15:35-49, practically preaches itself but Elder Salch confused the topic by introducing free will versus predestination into the discussion. On several occasions Elder Salch commented, "I believe". Regarding free will versus predestination, he stated, "I believe free will versus predestination is a question of perspective & understanding" but he neglected to clarify the difference or how it relates spiritual bodies. In addition, the term "I believe" should never be uttered from the pulpit. The only thing that matters is what God's Word says, not what the speaker believes. I admire Elder Salch's courage to preach God's word. After more training and practice in sermon preparation I'm sure he will become a fine expository preacher.
The Father vs: 3-6; the Son vs: 7-12; the Holy Spirit vs: 13-16
