For anyone struggling with the Tonberrys (aka everyone doing this quest), the strategy I used was using the Enemy Skill Materia for Self Destruct at the start of the fight when they are all grouped up. This will do about 75%-80% of each enemy's HP. Then, I just kite around with Yuffie and use Windstorm. You should be getting enough ATB back to just spam it, but if you don't, you can just throw her shuriken and do ranged ninjitsu to regain it. Not the most orthodox strategy, but it worked for me!

Ngl I put it on easy just so I can get past possibly the hardest side quest in the entire game and I'm still getting my ass kicked by the tonberrys..... I HATE TONBERRY KNIGHTS!!!!

Nice job! I hated this. Took me 5 tries. I don't like these trials. Rewards are shit and you're not even able to choose which abilities you want and the challenge itself doesn't reward creativity and skill, just rinse and repeat the most powerful skills.

The Final Chronolith Trials are very difficult for me. I can't equip anything. We get bonuses for playing the way the game wants us too. I find this invigorating.
