Tea prices in Istanbul vary a lot! In local spots, you can still find it for 10-15 lira, but in touristy areas, it can be 50+ lira. And sometimes, the real ‘scam’ is when they bring tea without asking and then charge for it later. Have you ever experienced that?

@ I'm sorry but we can't find it at this price in local areas. Because workers' and civil servants' salaries were increased by 40% 1 month ago. and everything is going up in price. Nobody wants to work in the tourism sector anymore because of working for Turks makes you earn even more.

That’s true, payment fees exist, but our concern isn’t just about that. The real issue is that many taxi drivers in Istanbul set prices randomly, often much higher than what’s fair-sometimes even 40% or more. And let’s not forget the classic ‘broken meter’ excuse! Have you experienced this in Istanbul?

@ In fact, a normal Turkish citizen dont work as a taxi driver! You work 24 hours a day and your average earnings are around 60 USD. That's why people who have a criminal record and have been in prison before usually become taxi drivers. Because no one gives jobs to such people, they have to. Naturally, after a while, when the money they earn becomes less than even the minimum wage, they start to commit fraud.

@ I understand that taxi drivers have a tough job, but scams are not the solution. Many honest people work hard for little money without cheating others. My father, who is a professor, also had to work as a taxi driver at some point-but he never scammed anyone. In the end, these scams hurt tourism and make people not want to come back. Wouldn’t fair prices bring more business in the long run?

@ You are absolutely right, in fact I havent been coming across a lot of fraud stories lately. Because; The taximeter opening fee in taxis increased by 40 percent from 30 lira to 42, the yellow taxi distance fee increased by 40 percent from 20 lira to 28 lira per kilometer, the yellow taxi time tariff fee increased by 48.9 percent from 235 lira to 350 lira per hour, and the yellow taxi hop-on and hop-off fee increased by 35 percent from 100 lira to 135. So now you will pay an average of 600 Turkish lira for a 10km taxi ride. This price will increase with the time factor depending on the traffic.

Thailand offers a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), which allows digital nomads, remote workers, and freelancers to stay in the country for up to 180 days per year, with the possibility of renewal. However, Bangladesh is not on the list of eligible countries for this visa. The approved list includes nations from America, Asia, and Europe, but unfortunately, Bangladesh is not included. So, at the moment, citizens of Bangladesh cannot apply for the DTV visa. You might qualify for a business visa or the Smart Visa program. Have you checked those options?

We lived in Arequipa for 6 months. Peru is mind-blowing, so no matter where you start, you'll love it. If you come for a vacation, do the regular routine - Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Lake Titikaka. Sacred Valley is one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen, and you can get around it relatively easy. Either rent a car in Cusco, or take local taxi mini-buses, they have routes between all interesting cities in SV. Or you can do tours from Cusco, either way SV is one of the most developed places in Peru infrastructure-wise, so you'll be fine.

Pisaq/Pisac - one of the most interesting inca ruins where you are not rushed and there are almost no tourists.
