In my experience boiling doesn’t fade the antler. Works for me every time

@@westelkhunts1974of course! That’s the old school way. My dad always put plastic wrap and foil around it. But he cooked it harder. Low heat is the best. It prevents the gunk from sticking to antler more than knocking off color. I haven’t ever had the antler discolored from boiling. But to each their own! Every way works

You could have stated a ballpark rather than the call me so I can test your interest or hard sell you because this 1:10 video should have answered all your questions. Going to get blunt this having to find pricing by jumping through hoops is a big turn off. Me and my wife are about to enter the next stage of our life in about 6 months or sooner and I've been shopping for a home base for months and between having to zillow or jump over the other hurdles being put in place to NOT sale the places that raise my eyebrows it's getting very annoying. That old if you gotta ask you can't afford it is trash gate keeping and has made me move many potentials off my list over the last few months. We currently own our home free and clear so I'm pretty sure with all the steps we have taken to get to this point we are in a better place than most which allows me to be very picky. Last piece of advice before I end my old man rant when asked offer the information willingly to the best of your knowledge. You were hired to move a clients property not gate keep it.

@@ronfair1202 Nothing was avoided from our end. In the description, it literally states to give me a call.... Giving live info via phone call and sharing disclosures via email is the highest level of communication for everyone. There is no 'hard sell', there are no 'big hoops'. My cell phone number is above, the info is on our website (all attached above) and we advertise internationally...acreage, location, price point, utility info, it's all out there for the public to review. Sometimes I do, but I don’t like to discolor antler or blow out teeth. The tissue was super soft and it came right off with the hose spray nozzle

@@livinginthecarolinastv yeah brother. So far long bows, but some shorter. I've got some buffalo horns in the mail to make a native style horn bow. Not like the asiatic horn bows with horn, wood, and sinew, just purely the back of the horn cut off, and shaped down into the limb, spliced and reinforced at the handle, then a thick thick thick layer of sinew for the backing

Use a flat or matte finish varnish or spray can clear coat in flat or matte

Mop and glo will do very nice. It will leave a very subtle sheen but will not be shiny. Also this will prevent dust from settling into the bone because the bone is porous. Once that gets in the bone you really can't get it out. Keep it covered until you decide what you want to use .

So many ways to do it. You can burry it, boil it, whatever. I bleach mine, and some folks don’t. There’s different ways to bleach it too
