Roadtripping Japan
After visiting the historical town of Nikko, we rented a car and began our journey north to Sendai. The road trip first took us to Ouchi-Juku, known as a post station during the Edo period. Today Ouchi-Juku still maintains its historical charm with natural streets lined with thatched roof houses. We continued our road trip by then visiting the mountains surrounding Zao. With the Zao Fox Village being so close, we of course had to spend a day playing with foxes. From there, we continued north to the beautiful Yamadera shrine. The hike up to the temple grounds did not disappoint and provided for some amazing views of the valley below. After grabbing a bite to eat in Yamadera, we jumped in the car again and headed to Ginzan Onsen for the afternoon. This small resort town was stunning. With a creek flowing through the center of town and large traditional Japanese buildings on either side, it's easy to see why people come to vacation and relax here. We ended our day by continuing north to Naruku Onsen and stayed at a traditional Ryokan hotel. At this point of the trip, Savannah was full blown constipated and Abby was deliriously sleep deprived, so our stay was anything but relaxing. Fortunately, they had a couple of onsens so I was able to throw on my Yukata and spend a view quiet moments alone. After our short stay, we finished our road trip by visiting the beautiful Naruku Gorge, famous for its fall colors.

The trek is 19 miles with an elevation gain of 5,000 feet. It features the beautiful Colchuck glacial lake, Aasgard Pass, the upper Enchantment area, and the Snow Lakes. Is there a town with restaurants and food markets? Is a car required? Are beach chairs and umbrellas available to rent?

I went to the exactly same two beaches there in 2015. As far as I remember, there is no town, just one peer, several restaurants to eat and few places to stay. And I didn’t see any car rental there. On the peer, there is one bus sending travelers to different beaches. Near the beach, you can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, life vests, and other snorkeling tools. Remember bring your beach towel and your own stuff.

Nice video. Haven’t been to Anderson Pass since August 1997 (Anderson Glacier was still a glacier then) and been moved back here (KItsap) 9 years ago. Going to have to make the time to do this. Last time, went up the Dosewallips and out the Putvin Trail to the Hamma Hamma. So much beautiful scenery along the way.

I used to camp at the campground you stopped at, using it as a base for hikes on up the Dosewallips. It's sad they never fixed the washout on the road, but on the other hand makes it a nice stop when hiking. I'm planning to do this exact traverse from east to west up Dosewallips, Anderson Pass, and out the Enchanted Valley. I don't understand the questions posted here about trailhead, out/back or loop - it's a one-way hike and you clearly titled it. Thanks for a good video to show what I'll be be going through, as it helps to have that content in addition to what is on AllTrails and WTA sites.,

MV Freedom, My name is Scott Welling and I am in the process of starting a new dental practice in Poulsbo (Nordic Family Dental). I am really trying to have a dental office that feels like a part of the community and isn’t just another dentist down the road. Part of that is showcasing the natural beauty of Poulsbo/Liberty Bay, which you captured beautifully in your drone video I saw on UA-cam. I am trying to get about 30-60s of video I can have in the background on my website and wanted to reach out to see if I could have permission to use it? Let me know what you think. Thanks!
