Here is a "sizzler" video about the making of my January 7th, 2022 release on Palmetto Records "Breath By Breath". Featuring The Crosby Street String Quartet, bassist Drew Gress and drummer Jochen Rueckert. All original music. Contains the 8-movement Sati Suite which is inspired by my mindfulness meditation practice.

You’re a gift to planet earth, Fred. Thank you.
Fred and Janice Siegel did a piano-voice rendition on Slow Hot Wind that is even more stunning than this lovely trio version. Check it out!
You are the one. You have made your mark. Just amazing. In terms of concern about being remembered, well, as the mushrooms told me this evening, our laughter is forever imprinted on the stars. Everything is recorded. You will be remembered and live on in the lives of others, whose souls you have so touched. You have a special gift.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I agree with everything stated below. Also note how Hersch & Co. manage to poke into all the corners of "Nardis," alternately veiling and peeling away layers of mystery lines and underground harmonies. One really tired of Evans' mid- and late-period manic, metronome-shattering renditions of this tune; it's more of a lullaby than a "Hammerklavier."
A near death experience, foe sure. Very rich!!!
Yawn......zzzzzzzzz
In dreams a vehicle often represents your life. A car or small vehicle is your own life, a larger vehicle society, an airplane is a movement, a bus a comminity, a camper van a family like community. If you're not in the drivers seat it's because you're life feels out of control. If someone is taking over you're feeling controlled. That dream might be illustrating that your conscious mind wasn't in the drivers seat and you were trying to get back into it.
This song is credited Lennon-McCartney, not just McCartney. Even if it was written by Sir Paul.
Mc Pherson great drummer
great great great
Fred has a beautiful piano touch and singing tone...
Hello Fred, saluti dalla Sicilia, I'm a jazz pianist, and your Fan!!
Beautiful music. Very High Level. Thank you
Exquisite. What he has been through in his life, and emerge from it playing so beautifully, is amazing.
Tasteful!!!
Fantastic!!!!!!!
I love the slower, softer version with its sensual, romantic quality. Well done. 👏🏻
He plays like dreams are felt.
Recién lo estoy conociendo. Admirable su música. Saludos desde Asunción. Paraguay
I absolutely love your playing. Your playing and advice has been a huge impact on my own playing. Thank you Fred Hersch.
Su cuequita.
Merveilleuse musique ! Merci !
puffffffff amazing
Super thanks 😀 for your!!! PDF PLEASE!!!
Sublime!
Wonderful! When as a musician you go beyond aesthetic and stylistic doubts, then everything you have listened to and studied can emerge freely, expressing your personal artistic point of view.
Wow
Not sure of the bass players choices sound or rhythmic accompaniments in first piece-Fred is a very intellectual player and a great jazz theorist in his approach-not sure the average jazz dude gets it but Fred you are a fine player.
Fred is very particular about who he plays with--Hebert has good ears, is right there where he needs to be
Wow ....... nice.
What can i say to this wonderful playing !

OMG that was gorgeous.
Wonderful experience of words and music. Thanks for sharing this stimulating and exuberant theater moment.
Not an easy task to bring together the composition, the live music, the lyrics, the singing and the acting, the animation and graphics of an incredible life or death experience such as the coma Fred Hersch suffered twelve years ago. This is an AMAZING work of art, like everything he had done before and has done since that coma. Thank you so much Mr. Hersch for your music. And thank you WBGO for posting the news of this premiere.
bravo
This harmony is not created according to the rules from textbooks, but from individual feeling of tension and resolution , and color ; and for each it is individual and requires a search. This is amazing !
I see another connoisseur of Jazz! My favourite musical genre by far!
@@Calixtus I'm just a jazz teacher - professional. )
NICE!!!
Listen to the original and you will see why Fred relayed this in his own very special way
A Beatles early classic the depth of writing and wordsmith was then outstanding i was 18 then im 70 now but the structure is simply beautifully reborn in this cameo
Well said. Me too.
