After a big storm found a new spot along the lake shore to metal detect as well as my typical spots. Found an abandonded stone lodge, old coin & coins spills along with relics.

In August things are typically slow going in the water and finding good things with a metal detector can be challenging. Not this August though! Found the oldest coin ever and it's a good one. I found rings, other coins and relics, some of them sitting on the surface just under the water.

Usually it starts to dry up around this time during the summer when your metal detecting in the water but still there are interesting things to find and the shoreline is higher than what is typical so I'm still scooping away.

Still scooping old stuff in the lake while metal detecting. Had to fix the scoop to keep finding the old stuff in the water. See the vintage Baseball pin from 1908.

Was metal detecting in the lake. It was a hot day and there was some unusual finds but lots of good signals that I could not scoop up for reason that you will see!!

Went to the lake to detect deliberately and found VALUABLES and COINS and of course some interesting left-behinds from days gone by.

I have learned over the years that nice relics and silvers always show up after a big STORM rustles up the lakeside and this time is no different

Finding multiple copper small cents in Lake Champlian encrusted in lime scale and unidentifiable until I cleaned them in CRL and a sonic cleaner. Two Sweet surprises and good detail after the clean.

Using my canteen with canteen cup cook set to make chili on the shore of the lake and was not paying attention putting too much very hot spicy HOT sauce in it. Still tastes good but too hot.

Went on a drive down the west coast of Lake Champlian and explored an old French & Indian era fort followed by an impromptu WEST COAST TACO STAND meal.

Cooking by the lake using a canteen, canteen cup, Cave Survival food and don't forget the secret sauce.

I love finding relics while metal detecting. Found this old rusty pad lock from most likely sometime in the 1850's and cleaned all the rust from it.
