With Dutch oven cooking like that, put a sheet of aluminum foil down, then put some of the charcoal on that, then put the Dutch oven on the coals. Well, I guess I should say, if your DO has feet. Then place charcoal on top too. With a roast or stew, you need to add more throughout the day. We start ours in the morning. My husband taught me to cook with one camping, he's an Eagle Scout and learned a lot during scouting. Now everyone wants to come camping with us.

Physical exertion and busy work is tiresome for the body. Dreary weather , rain and just overcast in general is tiresome for the soul. Soul tired is not cured with rest. Even our inside environments can make us soul tired if things just don’t feel right or good. When dealing with both simultaneously it is HARD. Our minds and bodies need so much more grace than we as a society provide. These type of days just create an unease that doesn’t set well.

A little tip...I actually bought a microwave steamer. I have made mac in cheese, and cooked potatoes and made Mash potatoes in the camper. And also steamed veggies. I figured why use gas when electricity at a camp ground is provided with the fee. Purchased through Amazon. Lol
