I too have watched three videos and your approach was the only one that worked for me. It at least it was the easiest and least aggressive approach. Had 5 sets of wheels popped off, cleaned and replaced in less than an hour.
I did the same thing . Another video showed using two crow bars to get them to pop off. My engineer friend suggested to pull the wheels and boil them. The heat soften them and the wheels popped off easily with the screwdrivers!!!
After opening the wheels you need to press both the wheels hard or you can use a light hammer to put the same in place. I have shown how to fix them back in place in the video. Please do not tap hard as the wheels may break
@@kartikkhegde hm... both of my wheels are pressed how they were initially, but one of them just doesn't stay in place, you can easily put and remove it without any force, it doesn't hold at all.
If it is the same type of wheel then you can simply press as demonstrated in video. If it is a different type of wheel then may be you need to watch some other video. Usually just by pressing the wheels firmly with your hands the wheels get fixed back. Don't use hammer on the wheels, as they may crack.

Boiling or using crowbar may damage the wheels, I found this method helpful and without causing any damages
Hair blow dryer works to make plastic more pliable . . . Better than boiling.

I am not sure then why they are not holding back. Please check if the casters are not cracked from inside. If so then they need to be replaced.
I tried with one s driver & my trolley wheel cracked. 🙆♀️ will stick it now. Fivi bond.
