I can confirm that this is an effective way to learn to drift, I did it myself and went to my first drift day with my car and it was a pretty similar experience

The Kunos e30 is the best to learn in. Honestly recommend learning this car before entering modded drift packs. On the right track with learning throttle modulation but biggest thing to learn is letting the wheel go and letting it counter steer with the FFB. The wheel will counter steer faster than you can 99% of the time. Definitely got the basic understanding of it all, like you said just takes practice. Oh look into the Neck Fx setting in CSP to help with the cockpit view camera.

try using WDT Street cars, theyre much better than the kunos cars. good luck!

this used to happen to me in horizon 5 all the time. I have since upgraded my pc and have an ssd for a storage drive. It fixed the issue in fh5, and i have not experienced it in FM

I used to have this problem in Forza Horizon 3 and 4 with my old CPU. Haven't had this happen to me in Horizon 5 or the new Motorsport yet 🤔

you need to let go off the accelerator when changing gears, and in case you are on a wheel the position you have is bad for precision driving. Also remember: no foot on the gas in the turn means load torque changes leading to instable behaviour. Brake harder before the turn, accelerate more/earlier in the turn!
