The sand was collected on Red beach 1 Iwo Jima on March 21st 2015 by Roy and Jonathan. Reunion of Honor Trip 70th Anniversary.
Roy landed on the island on Feb 19 1945 around 930 am. He fought all 36 days. He was a part of the 5th Marine Division, 13 regiment (Artillery).
