    How can I buy one of the fs hunter pros? I cant find it anywhere inline. Is this still the best light you can get?

    Neat! Id had been thinking of building an S21a/b for rock hunting. I use a lot more 21700s than 26650s.

    Can you say anything about your experiences with time to solarization of filter glass and any differences between the zwb and Hoya material?

    • @fshunter412
      @fshunter412 4 місяці тому

      I believe from what we are seeing at about 500 hours the zwb3 looses 30% ouput which still means its still producing 65% of UV but at replacement filter cost of $5 it’s still the cheapest route to go. The reason I chose the Hoya glass for the 4 die emitter was to get rid of the artifacts in the beam.

    I guess I don't really understand why an insulator is needed? Wouldn't it be better to allow more heat to come out of the front of the led through the metal reflector too?

    • @fshunter412
      @fshunter412 6 місяців тому

      Totally agree, but the insulator helps insure the reflector does not short out the circuit as well.

    So your M11 is what you're comparing the c255-4? Do you have a name for the one youre comparing the chinese one to? And whats the difference between your two lights?

    • @fshunter412
      @fshunter412 6 місяців тому

      No the M11 is one I just came out with for an affordable SW and MW, the one I compare to the 255-4 is my single die FS Hunter Pro.

    I just don't understand why someone would have to use a filter for a monochrome light source. I mean if I have a 365nm UV led it will give me about 365nm of light and almost non of other wavelengths. So why use a filter? Info: I actually have no practical experience in this topic as my convoy S12 365nm uv is still in the mail. Thanks for the video👍🏻

    • @fshunter412
      @fshunter412 7 місяців тому

      So all UV light sources put out some white light and the reason for the filter is just to block that white light and only let UV light through.

    • @kyleinwisc
      @kyleinwisc 4 місяці тому

      The emitter gives off a spectrum of light that has the highest output in the wavelength desired. If you look at the datasheet for luminous devices sst-10 uv 365nm emitters, it shows the leds probable spectrum. For that model, it emits light in wavelengths that range from 310 to 420nm. Visible light starts somewhere between 380-400nm.

      @booom2314 4 місяці тому

      Thanks for your response, it seems that you are correct I have gotten my flashlight and it looks just like a 405nm led but if course mutch dimmer (I know that I can't see the 365nm light and I will not look into the light) but it has a wonderful Florescent effect on many things.

      @@charleshuizar1903 the filter removes any white light coming from the led and stops it from bleaching the stone with white light, with LW I definitely recommend it. These filters were invented back in 1903 specifically to remove white light from a UV source and have been in use for UV minerals for decades.
