I've seen a few videos of shortening the depth of this style of cabinet, but what about a base cabinet with doors only from Ikea? I have no idea how they come shipped. I'm assuming they require assembly, so I'm curious if this couldn't be done for that situation. The reason I'm asking is I need 18" depth base cabinets but they only offer 24". I saw a guy doing a tutorial a few years ago where he was using the kitchen design program and it had the option of picking a shorter depth cabinet. That does not seem to be an option anymore. Any ideas?

Question: let say the sink and the stove is on the same wall, what do you do? Or will the stove always or should be on the other side of the wall?

Hey Nelson! Awesome video! I’m renovating my basement and I’m just about to where I need to figure out what size cabinets I will put etc . Your video is very helpful & I made my own L kitchen design but I’m just having trouble figuring out which size cabinets fit best. It’s similar to this one from the video, but I won’t have a dish washer, my fridge will be a 32” fridge ,sink will be a smaller and my stove will be a 24” stove. It’s my first time doing this ! What is the size of the wall cabinets? I have 8 ft ceilings and planning to use 36” h cabinets with crown molding on the top with out having a gap over the cabinets.

Do use 2x6 cut down to 4 1/2 for the base??

Where’s the updated version of this assembly? I have one with different fastening ( the 1/4 turn screw assembly) Doesn’t show how to attach upper turning shelf. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
