    Great message. I liked the cigarette analogy. There are people literally dying of lung cancer that won't give it up. On the other end of the spectrum, I had a grandpa who quit cold turkey because he found himself reaching for a cigarette one day and realized it was something controlling him. He did not know of the health effects at that time, but did not want to be enslaved by anything and so stopped. If only more people had faith like that in all aspects of life! The spectrum of faith and or unbelief is so wide and I am grateful you bring attention to this.

      Thanks for your insight! There are people that can see things much more clearly than others. How much evidence does God have to give you before you take action? Is it just a whisper of his voice, or the parting of the Red Sea? Thanks Forrest.

    Fantastic message. It is so important that we build up surplus (spiritual, mental, physical) to the Lord when the times are good so like in the story with that woman, when you come across someone in need, you have a greater ability to provide them with a means of improving and making it to the end.

    It is difficult for young men to comprehend costs. I regularly joke (but in all seriousness) that if I had really grasped the concept of value by the age of 14-16, I would be a multi-millionaire or equivalent character by now. The sooner young men today start thinking about true value in life the better, and what better way to start than to approach an honorable father for guidance? Thanks for the message!

      Thanks Forrest! Young men these days have to be smarter, wiser, and faster to adapt than we were at their ages. Time seemed to move at a slower more manageable pace back then.

    Beautiful sunrise and a fitting lesson. Paul puts it as: "... whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things" (Philippians 3:19).In the past it was normal for me to feel a slump after a nice vacation. The hose bib analogy is a great illustration of why that would be. Aligning to the right purpose and intent will resolve the slump and can even exploit the vacation to accomplish objectives. Thanks Chris!

    Thanks Chris, this is great for all to hear, young men and old. Self honesty is where it starts and I wish as a young man I had that part of the gospel expounded on more. Opening up to help can be intimidating because of fear of the consequences and fear to acknowledge one's dishonesty. I sympathize with that fear because it will require gazing into a pretty dark reality of the state of the soul. However, if done in true honesty, I have also seen numerous examples of the chains falling off and ways provided to not only conquer the problems but bring hope into many other related and less obvious components of life.

    That was a fun interview. Thanks. Flying can be lots of fun and it's a good fit some people, but you'll find that most pilots that spend a lot of time away from home are fundamentally unhappy people. Being away from your family and loved ones for extended periods of time on a regular basis is a very lonely way to live. I don't recommend it.

      @sparx832 8 місяців тому

      @@MountainTop462 Thanks for the response and concern. There's been no recovery, but I have been expecting as such given various macro variables unrelated to my particular business and industry. In fact, these macro variables involve the ongoing stress in the banking (and monetary) system since March 2023. If you're not already paying close attention to the Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP) program, then I would definitely start... I'm expecting severe banking turbulence starting in March 2024 (if not sooner) if the Fed / FDIC do not roll over this program, start a similar program, and/or lower interest rates. There are simply too many banks with underwater bond/loan portfolios... particularly regional banks exposed to commercial real estate... for the current economic / financial / monetary paradigm to survive much longer in its present form. As such, there likely will not be any recovery whatsoever for my business going forward... but part of my strategy has been to offset business cash flow loss with capital gains as the paradigm transitions. Wish me luck... but more importantly, hope my analysis is incorrect given the human suffering that would most certainly ensue. Cheers.

    “Do you know why you were born at this time in this environment? Because the world needs you to rise up and defend the truth, and out of the ashes of your life become who God wants you to become-harder than steel. If someone wants or says something that you know is not right, stand up for the truth even though you know you’ll be punished for doing it. You are not a victim. You will not be defeated. You are strong. You can conquer anything in this world with God’s help, and you have everything you need to be victorious. Use the sword God has given you and be the sword God wants you to be.” - Chris Koch. Thank you.

    Great video, Chris. At 9:34 : One reason the lessons are endless is because they are detached from the expectation of improvement. It is difficult to find a congregation of people ready and willing to heed an invitation for improvement delivered once a week, and it is difficult to find a preacher capable of delivering one without hypocrisy. All who have not yet perfectly aligned to the light and truth they have received would do well to go and live it before seeking more. Nothing better prepares you for more light and truth than pouring out everything you already have to give.
