breaking up with my boyfriend because he’s a momma’s boy :( "Who’s in the wrong here?
You’re worried you’re going to damage your relationship with your brother?!? His fiancée (your future sister in law) has ALREADY damaged it. If one of my siblings (or nieces or nephews) put me in your position, my reply would be “we don’t have to be close to be family but if you’re going to ask me to choose between you and my wife, YOU LOSE. You’re dead to me.” I’ve been married for 25 years and this would be an incredibly easy decision to make. Stand up for your wife, pal.
Why doesn't your mother tell your brother to keep the peace? Your father is right. P.S. Enjoy the drama, there will be years of it.
Bella is a jealous drama queen with some narcissism sprinkled in for good measure. This is vindictive behavior and shows her character, or lack thereof. Tell Brad you aren’t going to a wedding where your wife is being excluded and disrespected, and the marriage won’t last anyway so why bother? Tell your mother the expression “keeping the peace “ is just a roundabout way of telling someone to be a doormat and cave in to unreasonable demands and bad behavior. When you married your wife, she became your #1 concern. A good husband protects his wife from insults and condensation, even from his own family. It’s a good thing my husband isn’t Brad’s brother. He’d get such an ass ripping he wouldn’t sit down for a month. My husband doesn’t play that game.
No. Do not go! Tom is joining Naomi's family and has made a clear choice by allowing HIS family members (you and your wife) to be disrespected and demeaned. Honestly, Naomi is jealous of Bella's outgoing way with people, which is a blessing to have. DO NOT reward petulant jealousy with capitulation. That day, you two need to have a special, romantic date which YOU must plan for your beloved wife to show her how much you appreciate her bubbly, outgoing self. She is your future. Remember, through any continued family unpleasantness, who is actually showing the hate and negativity. Anyone who would put that condition on their husband's brother's family is not someone you actually want in your life because this is the height of narcissism. I feel sorry for your brother. Big red flag to reconsider marrying this person. Divorce is expensive.
It ain;t rocket science bud.
There is no dilemma here, what are you talking about? You sound almost as spineless as your brother. If you go without your wife, you are.
