My mom & dad's 66 Ford LTD 4 door hardtop with the 390 was a pretty good sleeper.

None of these cars are sleepers. I was expecting to see a 1996 Taurus SHO, or a Chevy II with a 327. Maybe a Vista Cruiser wagon/An late 80s Ford LTD with an interceptor motor.

My sleeper was the 1969 Ford Fairlane coupe, same as the Torino but as plain as they come,what made it the real sleeper was the 4 Cobra badges, 1 in the grill 2 on ea.front fender 1on the trunk, there was also the badge on the functional hood scoope saying 428 SuperCobraJet in slightly fancy letters the hp like with many brands/models was lowered to actually deceive Ins. Companies they claimed this engine produced 335 hp but actually put out 460 hp I dyno. it and add a little extra. It also had the DragPack which meant it had 4 speed W/close range gears,9" rear-end W/457gears(opp.430gears) the car had more I could talk about but I'd be making this comment way too long.It was a great Street Racer I don't think I was ever beaten by any other muscle car, honestly I can say I was never beat. In 1973 I bought a used 1970 police Fury I. It had the 440, heavy duty suspension and brakes. It was a bare bones interior and a bit rough looking, but for a 19 year old it had all the power I could need. It wasn't a dragster with highway gears, but still wasn't a slouch on a Saturday evening. I never did find the top end speed. but it was over 140 mph. Best $700 bucks I ever spent.
