I’m in agreement that the next VF should avoid any comeback mechanics by all means necessary. However, if they HAVE to add any kind of new mechanic to pull in casual newcomers, my suggestion would be to implement some kind of sudden death mechanic. It would bel like a fluid finisher. Think of it like Brutalities/Ultra Combos in terms of mechanics (but without the gore or over the top combo juggling) and Heat Smashes in terms of visuals (without the lasers or domain expansions). A unique combo string that can be executed or cancelled at any time, and the last hit will be a brief but impactful finisher move. Unlike the typical comeback moves, this mechanic can only be used once a match when BOTH players are at critical health, in order to further promote the aggressive nature of VF. You wouldn’t be able to take an ass whipping then use the move from meter build up or turtle the whole match and wait until you can use some super move. You and your opponent must both be aggressive and the real suspense would come from who would try to commit to the finisher first.
