It gets better unless you live in the Middle East or Africa. Then you're pretty much on your own, unfortunately. There's still a lot of bigotry and hatred towards homosexuals in this world. They're thrown off buildings in some places. As open-minded as Western countries are, most places of the world are still not very tolerant towards gays. The fight isn't over. We still have a long ways to go.

Christianity is really the worse type of hate group. Mostly because it lends a degree of social acceptability and respectability to obsolete, violent, caveman, ideas. If God really thinks homosexuals and people of differing beliefs go to hell, then he is evil. I would not worship him even if he was real. But I have a little spoiler for you. These old texts about a sky wizard that tells you to hate different people are about as real and culturally relevant as myths about Zeus or Odin. Religious people should really be thought of as the intellectual children that they are. They are stupid and malicious towards anything that their stunted intellect can't understand. They hate anything modern and new, science included, as their fairy tales favor a world view that's much simpler and more easily comprehended than the one explained by science. Religious people like to think they have all the answers which really is an astronomical amount of arrogance. Then they think their dumb and culturally obsolete ideas should be forced on everyone. I would say they're children, but it's worse than that. They're dangerous people that would be quick to form a lynch mob consisting of stupid and aggressive people to destroy people that don't believe in their primitive ideas. I call them Christ-cattle for a reason. Yes, I have no tolerance for religion and the religious.... but that's mainly because they have no tolerance for anyone else. Also, the sheer amount of hatred towards homosexuals really makes you wonder if they're hatred is based on projection and scapegoating. It probably is because I can't even count how many times fire and brimstone preachers and homophobic republicans are caught in compromising positions revealing a great amount of latent homosexual behavior. Ugh, I just got trolled so bad. Showthyself is probably nothing but a very effective troll. And back on topic, kudos to you Jake Shears, you're an inspiration!

Sin severs and distances. Regardless the Lord will and does honor those willing to struggle to do what is right and will favor anything you can bring in your heart of yourself in the intention to be closer to him. I believe it more important to love your immediate world then have the details all down. Just remember Jesus came that NONE shall die. And that ALL be saved that would be willing to accept him. Not accept me or my style or my church or anything about me or anything else I say. He just wants his people..(all people) to know there worth, live it and love. We may fight or fail but we can never outrun the outreached hand. Right or wrong he'll take you. You don't need to change anything about yourself, you'll change as a process of life itself. And if others can't accept you the lord can/will work on them. Sorry but there are ppl who think they can change you or make you better. But they cannot. In a manner of speaking you are perfect as is. Hanging in there is awesome. But a solid hope helps. Just a few thoughts. Hope someone gets helped and again. And there seems to be a miserable faction of people that will go out of their way to ensure gays are the unwanted minority.
