I finally got over my depression when I started working to join the army. Now, I have it back and I fucken hate life thanks to my recruiter who told me, "If your taking meds for depression, you're automatically disqualified." Oh, and I have Asthma, but I'm starting to outgrow it, but I still can't join anyway since I use an inhaler. I think it's just fucked up that I can't serve my country and risk my life helping people just cause of a small mental issue and an inhaler. This extremely fucked my life up so now I have to get out of ROTC and choose some different class for my next high school year. Only thing I came up with is a SWAT team member, but I bet I won't be able to do that either since apparently it's wrong to serve your country/community if you have depression and use an inhaler for Asthma (Even if your getting over it.) So, fyi to all the teens or kids or even adults wanting to join the military (Any branch.) If you have Depression or Asthma (Even if you think it's getting better), you use that inhaler any time passed the age of 13 (your fucked.) I don't wan't anyone to screw up a part of their lives and feel dumb af like I did.
